Rod Modell returns as Deepchord for his first solo release on Astral Industries since inaugurating the label with his sought-after ‘Lanterns’ EP. Consisting of two stunning long-form pieces split on one side each, 'Immersions’ captures the emotive, halcyon sound that Rod has long become synonymous with. Opening with glistening ambient textures, ‘Immersion I’ grows into an 18-minute piece of deep rolling dub techno. On the other side ‘Immersion II’ paints pristine soundscapes of soft, lapping waves, underpinned by submerged pulsations that rise to the surface to continue its deep space explorations. Two highly refined and inspiring tracks that sit on the apogee of this sound.

The respected Italian producer Roberto Bosco pushes the blurry boundaries of club techno with this edgy, agile and highly functional 4-tracker on Figure SPC. Letting the games begin straight away with ‘One’, a bass-loaded pumping groove leads the action as we step into a cavernous hall resonating with classic techno hypnotism. Careful arrangement tweaks, jacking, sharp percussion and knee-trembling sub-frequencies are all present in this well-¬defined peak time treat for the floor. The twisting, freaking opening bars of 'Circle Dub' quickly evolve into a strange but beautiful beast, utilising Bosco's trademark solid drum array, but also a drifting, dubbed out scattering of synth lines, taking the focus from our heads to our hearts. Super-pumped and primed for warehouse sessions everywhere, the title of the B1 track 'Club' sums it up perfectly. Chunky, trembling bass energy exudes from the ground up as Bosco treats us to a techy stab laden builder that simple cannot fail to evoke a spiritual, primal feeling from deep within. Finally the stripped, tripped and dirty tones of 'Circle Dub (Dub)' greet us with hot headed exuberance. Full of attitude, tension and displaying careful restrain, its an ideal conclusion to the EP, and will no doubt find favour with DJs during those darker, tougher moments.

After a decent corpuscular thrashing, the calibration of the control systems went in normal mode.
When the readings of the instrument were analysed, there was an enthusiastic voice on board: "Thermoregulation is normal, cap! Electromagnetic induction and differential change of the phase integral are calculated! Full speed ahead!"

After passing through the dense asteroid belt, the broken testers found that a kinetic teleport spat out their aircraft near the orbital station "Research Institute of Cybernetics", where an unscheduled study of the dynamic modulations and illumination of the moon was carried out using ultrasonic transducers.

With amazing ease, they ended up in the center of scientific research, in the middle of a landfill filled with splitting blasters and life-size holographic models. The mechanics of this action had an absolutely mesmerizing effect, making anyone who witnessed it freeze in amazement. The slow-motion fashion show of the prototypes reflected the metamorphoses of the growing (as they say among Earthlings), full and waning moon, reminding us of the grandiosity of the internal changes of each of us and of the magnetic integrity they possess.
