Alaia & Gallo are a pair of smart young Italian DJs who have quickly made their musical mark, have turned a number of heads, and have laid down some essential sets in the best clubs around Europe. Now they impress again here.

Well in many cases it's true and despite our dear old Mum's total inability to keep up with many aspects of technology, she's still one of our first ports of call when we need advice. When it comes to tech house however she's less than useless (she's more of a drum and bass head), so we call on Nhan Solo's Kreuzberg based imprint Mother Recordings to give us the lowdown on what's going on in the scene.

Having introduced us to some of our favourite artists in recent years, Mother then decided to launch a sampler series compiling the fresh works from the label's family and friends  so they can share their passion and camaraderie with the world.

With releases on NicFanciulliś Saved or Josh Butlerś Origins Rcrds we are more than happy to welcome such a talented and humble person to our MOTHER family.

Opener „Dark Side“ has perfectly swung drums bringing a New York feel, with razor sharp hi hats and big warm kicks powering it along. Ducking and diving as it goes, the dynamism will sweep up the floor and then busy vocals and taught synth twangs help ramp things up.

The brilliant „Take It Back“ on the flip is another vocal house banger, with lots of filters bringing the tensions, sweeping synths rising you up and heavy drums keeping things rooted to the groove.

These are two more hugely effective cuts as ever from MOTHER.

We couldn't start the new year more positively than with this incredibly unique disco, not disco, feel-good statement from House Music grandmaster Phil Fuldner, who we finally welcome back on Mother Recordings.

In this track, Phil quotes himself and plays around with a finely twisted synth line on a tingling 80s style bass line bed, in which the flawless guys from Raumakustik 
also play an important part with their creative input. 

We could have set off this wonderfully playful, and light-footed rocket only in winter, and then go crazy to this song at our favorite open airs till summer. But we are convinced that we will still be dancing to this banger in September 2021...and beyond!
