With more than three decades of experience in the field of music education, John Eckstine is the Director of Athletic & Symphonic Concert Bands at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, after most recently serving as the Director of Bands/Instrumental Music Specialist at Spring-Ford Area High School in Royersford, Pennsylvania. Currently, John Eckstine earned his Bachelor of Science in music education from Frostburg State University and a Masters of Music Degree in Wind Conducting from Messiah University. He also completed additional courses in music education from the University of the Arts, and in wind conducting from West Chester University. As a band director, John Eckstine enjoyed a long and distinguished career, having directed bands at various middle and high schools in Pennsylvania , Maryland, and West Virginia. Prior to Spring-Ford Area High School, Mr. Eckstine directed the band at Boonsboro Senior High School in Boonsboro, Maryland. Before that, he served in the same capacity at Williamsport High School and at Clear Spring High School, both located in Maryland. In addition to directing, John Eckstine enjoys attending the symphony, having been at performances by the Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia symphonies. Mr. Eckstine also holds membership in several industry organizations, including the Maryland Band Directors Association and the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association.
