John Fuoco was born in the city of Ottawa, Ontario - Canada’s capital.

He is a Canadian singer, songwriter and performer in every sense of the word. His work is unique; a new genre of country, blues, folk and POP rock material his fans have come to call real music. He became interested in music at the age of 12, after listening to his sister and cousin repeatedly play albums such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Supertramp and many other 70s bands. He fell in love with, and was consumed by the sound. Picking up an electric El degas guitar at the age of 14, John started playing day and night. He formed a trio in the mid-80s and played at high school events as much as he could. After a while, the trio drifted apart and music unfortunately took a back seat for some time. Unsure of what to do with his life, he played music on and off for many years.

Writing music came much later for the melodic and creative songwriter. After a heartfelt love story about a girl that left him depressed and heartbroken, the magic and passion of writing appeared. As soon as the first song was written, he knew from that moment onwards that creating and sharing music was to be his life’s purpose.

The desire and passion to keep writing and performing his own material is very important to John. His music is imbued with emotions; and the sound is tinged with a Pink Floyd influence with a whole new country feel.

Independently released, his first album in 2011, Do I Dare Wish Again, led him to sign a contract and a publishing deal with Nashville Indie record company JIP Records and Trowbridge Publishing. Recording in collaboration with Grammy Award Winning Engineer / Producer Richard K. Adler was an honour for him. Richard Adler has worked with superstar legends, such as Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Dolly Parton, Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Natalie Cole, and many others.

John Fuoco was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor (level 3) on the left side of his throat in late 2011, crashing all the dreams he had of a music career. He faced the biggest challenge of his life at the time, feeling angry and afraid, with only his dog Burton at his side. However, he knew he needed to let everything go and get ready for a journey that would change his outlook on life forever. Intensive treatment of Chemo and radiation started in February 2012. With faith, the will to live, and a rigorous journey back and forth to the hospital 5 days a week for two months, John was finally healed. By the summer of 2012, the tumor was totally gone. Happy to be alive, John still had to face the reality that he may never sing again after having had 35 treatments of radiation on his throat. John decided to focus on his spiritual well-being to nurture a better frame of mind, healthy eating and exercising. Through this process, he eventually came to the decision to let go of his long life dream of being a successful singer songwriter, and with this, he felt an inner peace.

Call it faith, dumb luck, or pure destiny, late in July 2012, having dinner at his sister’s house, he received a call from a music Executive in Nashville inquiring about his music. Unexpectedly, another journey began...
