Raising its super-chill credentials through the smoky roof, Wishing is a collaboration with the very queen of the etherial herself, Sophie Barker.  Writer and singer with the original legendary Zero 7 line-up, Sophie co-wrote much of their platinum-selling era-defining album Simple Things, including the worldwide smash Destiny alongside Sia.  She has also collaborated with a veritable who’s who of delicious music-makers including Groove Armada, The Egg and Grooverider, not to mention her many hugely successful solo projects and performances.

Cochemea Gastelum is coming home to connect with his roots. After nearly 15 years of touring the world with Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, the saxophonist offers a deeply personal album of jazz and indigenous-influenced rhythms. All My Relations is 10 tracks of mesmerizing and spiritually ascendant instrumentation. 

A California native with Yaqui and Mescalero Apache Indian ancestry, Cochemea grew up surrounded by music - both his parents were musicians, and they gave their son a heavy name meaning “they were all killed asleep.” Cochemea has spent much of his diverse musical career – as a soloist, musical director, composer and ensemble player – exploring and iterating on roots music, and All My Relations is a capstone meditation on his own ancestry.

Freak Power was a band founded by Norman Cook (later to become known as Fatboy Slim), Ashley Slater (the trombonist with the anarchic British jazz big band Loose Tubes), and Jesse Graham aka the Bass Cadet. Their music was a mix of acid jazz with funk and soul, as well as trip-hop.

The Fried Funk Food E.P. is classic electronic meets dub in a way that has held it's timeless charm since 1994. Over the years I have come back to this simple 6 track EP and enjoyed it over and over again. Also worth noting is the album is produced by Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim, Feelgood Factor, The Mighty Dub Katz, Pizzaman, Sunny Side Up, Yum Yum Head Food) before he rose to stardom. Highly recommended.
