This is the 2nd group of works to which I feel particularly close, and by which I would like to be remembered. For the Far Journey was commissioned by Gemini and is dedicated to my daughter, Caroline. Cantilever was commissioned for the Nash Ensemble by the King's Lynn Festival, and Elective Affinities was commissioned by the University of Hertfordshire for its Mayfest.

They begin with Noche Oscura, which I wrote in 1976, and end with Broken Forms from 2021 and the opera Russian Jerusalem, completed in 2022.
