And yet, not too long ago, seances and hypnotism were part of a countercultural revolution. This week, Dr. Kyle Fraser joins host John Last to examine how a fad for the occult transformed European science, medicine, and politics.

I was fortunate this week to get to talk to scholar, poet, and philosopher Jan Zwicky during her visit to the University of King's College for the Alex Fountain Memorial Lecture. Zwicky's work in philosophy has been to provide an alternative to the alienating, dissecting approach of the analytic school, an alternative she calls "lyric comprehension." In partnership with the Dal Gazette, the Watch Magazine and CKDU Radio, this week's episode explores the method, philosophy, and future outlook of this prolific Canadian thinker.
