After watching the news about the volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland, the four-piece post-rock band Laxá composed the first track of their new album as a result. 

Entititled "Eldensgill," which translates as "Fire Angel", it melds post rock and classical elements provided by the Heima Quartet.

The band members are:

Stately pleasure dome was decreed. 
And where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Straight down to a sunless sea,
Through caverns measureless to man...

It is here that the enlightened artist goes
To these dark, echoing caverns,
To mine, like the dwarves of Erebor,
Boons already dreamt into being,
Buried in a golden seam of ore. 
They ferry their treasures along the Alph, 
And then finally out into this bright world of day,
Their cargo unloads itself by crystal telegraph
If they’ve been careful not to spill a single
Drop along the way...

From this dimension of the Multiverse
This Underworld

They smelt the ore with the heat of their passion 
Into masterpieces of paintings, poetry and song,
They are humbled with gratitude as they fashion
These healing gifts from another realm,
A place that can cause no wrong. 

So this is the real Underworld, I hope you can see 
The source of all great art born from natural alchemy.

**Laxá & Heima Kvartett - "1 Ket"**  Dreamy Post Rock

A contemplative journey through light and shadow, "1 Ket" unfurls with delicate, melodic guitar patterns that glimmer like the first rays of sunlight breaking through a misty horizon. The strings of the Heima Kvartett weave a luminous tapestry, their rich harmonies gently ebbing and flowing like waves meeting a quiet shore. Slow, driving drum beats pulse steadily beneath the surface, grounding the ethereal atmosphere while subtly propelling it forward.  

Each note feels like a breath, suspended in time, as the piece builds with a tender patience, evoking a profound sense of introspection and longing. Laxá & Heima Kvartett deliver a masterclass in restraint, crafting a soundscape that is as much about the spaces between the notes as the melodies themselves. John Ludi is a musician/singer-songwriter/cultural relic with a diverse and "arty" array of influences and lyrical interests who was "Indie" before the term even existed. Working outside of the music industry by choice has given Ludi the ability to release songs of a level of lyrical depth that are anathema to the current culture.  Ludi lives off-grid in a yurt in the woods of WI and finds the materialistic priorities of our civilization incredibly wrong and destructive.
