On the wall, over my piano, synth, mac and digital stuff, is a picture called "Uskrevet Stykke" (Unwritten Piece). The painter is Roar Kjærnstad (Track image is not the painting). And this track is an attempt to put sound to this picture, that greets my every morning :-). And the picture also brings back memories of my own strugling with the keys, but also the deep fascination for the sound as it enters the whole room...

This all started as a middle of the night improvisation… it was quite mystifying to me because I quite simply had the sudden urge to sit and play very late one evening and out came most of this piece. I suppose it was all deep within me already. I have decided to call this work "An Interior Pilgrimage" because it is akin to a musical diary entry from me. I hope you all enjoy it. The performance can also be watched on my YouTube channel, be sure to like and subscribe there as well. Do also explore and follow my Instagram as there is a lot of material there. The artwork is, “Sympathy”, by surrealist painter, Remedios Varo. It is a work that has always registered with me deeply. Thus, I felt it a perfect match for this most personal piece. Thank you.

Well, it's that time of year again - the one we Scots can never remember due to self-inflicted amnesia: the bottled variety. I had not ever tried to play this before this afternoon and I must have been feeling a bit maudlin as I am not in Scotland! So, here is my take on that old tune sung out every year - and remember, it is pronounced Auld Lang Sign and not Auld Lang Zine!
It seemed a bit on the quiet side, so I have tweaked some of the parts. Am aye tweaking they bits, so am urnae!
As the "Happy New Year!" shout at the end of the original version is past its sell by date, I have replaced it with a slightly more up tempo version recorded on 6th January.
