On the wall, over my piano, synth, mac and digital stuff, is a picture called "Uskrevet Stykke" (Unwritten Piece). The painter is Roar Kjærnstad (Track image is not the painting). And this track is an attempt to put sound to this picture, that greets my every morning :-). And the picture also brings back memories of my own strugling with the keys, but also the deep fascination for the sound as it enters the whole room...

This all started as a middle of the night improvisation… it was quite mystifying to me because I quite simply had the sudden urge to sit and play very late one evening and out came most of this piece. I suppose it was all deep within me already. I have decided to call this work "An Interior Pilgrimage" because it is akin to a musical diary entry from me. I hope you all enjoy it. The performance can also be watched on my YouTube channel, be sure to like and subscribe there as well. Do also explore and follow my Instagram as there is a lot of material there. The artwork is, “Sympathy”, by surrealist painter, Remedios Varo. It is a work that has always registered with me deeply. Thus, I felt it a perfect match for this most personal piece. Thank you.

As I was waiting for Garry on Wednesday, I had recorded this backing on my NUX Loop Core and was noodling about with it. I played it back today and thought that it sounds quite nice, so I recorded it and scattered some noodles over it. Both backing and lead tracks were played on my Strat. I added some post production reverb and mastering and figured out how to add some extra reverb on the fade out.
The title came about as the temperature is plummeting here in Whitley Bay and I was wondering when we are going to see some of that promised global warming!
