ah, wonderful music.. i have missed you always popping up in my feed.. time to go noodle sniffing : )

I recorded this yesterday, starting off with more found vocal and synth sounds,with the synths utilising more percussive sounds - 9 tracks were recorded in unison. I then added and recorded the tenor sax, then the double bass and, finally, drums. 
I completed the sketch today to add to the track. According to the dictionary, a guttersnipe is "a scruffy and badly behaved child who spends most of their time on the street". I thought it meant the paparazzi!

Composed in spring of 2010, a manic happy dance celebration of the return of later evening daylight, evening bike rides, and disabling the gas heater for the summer. Stomp meets Riverdance, with a Vangelis-flavored interlude.

GRATITUDE
It took me some time to finish this tune, as I composed this almost a decade ago. For some reason, many other musical projects kept distracting me from investing the kind of time this tune, “GRATITUDE”, required and I believe deserved. 
But, I decided to not let it remain on the back burner any longer. 
I’m happy to say I finally got it done.

This tune is all about the gratitude I have towards everything that encompasses music. There’s gratitude simply for music existing in the first place.  It’s my heartfelt tribute towards the art of music in all its forms.  It is also just as much a tribute to ALL the musicians, from all walks of life, famous and not so famous... with some of course being highly influential and motivational for me on a personal level… all of which have been a source of inspiration in one way or another over the course of my life.     

Music is one of those big unanswered mysteries in the human experience.  Why is it that we humans perceive the sounds of music in the way we do? No one has ever really come up with a plausible explanation, yet it remains as a special art form that has existed throughout modern civilization and has been expressed in countless ways.  It’s pretty incredible… isn’t it?!

So I conclude with the hopes that you will give a good listen to my tune “GRATITUDE”.  After all… this is a tribute to every one out there, whether you are a fellow musician, or the non-musician that simply loves to listen to music and one that embraces this art form.

Humalong (2024 Remix)

This track was played on my new secondhand Gretsch Streamliner, the one with the licensed Bigsby tuning issues and the rattling tun-o-matic bridge. They sure do make them like they used to.
I wanted to do a backwards guitar track, so i played things that sounded good when the recording was played backwards.
I exported the finished backwards track and then copied and pasted the MP3 back onto an Ableton audio track and reversed it so the backwards track then played forwards, and it sounded pretty good so i stuck the two tracks together and hey presto, bing bang bong and Bobs your uncle
First the forwards track followed seamlessly by the backwards track.

Recently I noticed that someone played one of my tracks 30 times so i messaged him about this and he said he put my track on repeat and went and did other things around the house while my track played in the background.  
I didn't even know that there was a repeat function. So i recommend that you put this track on repeat  just to try it out. 
In these days of false plays by robots and "first fans" i thoroughly recommend this approach.
