THE SEA WAS WATCHING US

This is a track from a concept album telling the story of a young man's experience. The story begins in his homelad of Ireland in the mid 19th century when many people were leaving the country to find a new start in America.

Not much left in this town of one street
Brought up on lies and malevolent deceit
Folks just left with the sound of drumbeats

Searching for insurgence, no claim to civil rights
They preyed on the weak. They preyed on the strong
Nothing much left. The fight had all gone.

This track follows the theme of this new album about a young mans experience of growing up in the mid 19th century in Ireland, seeing his brother leave home to find a new life in America. When they were young lads, he and his three brothers played at being nights of the round table. Each brother was given a name; the oldest Galahad. Hence the title of the track.

I wrote this song during the pandemic during lock down. I'm glad I do not feel this way anymore; however, you'll never know the good times if you don't have some bad. I picked the strings with bare finger tips.

I have been experimenting with sounds since I was really young , when I was about 6 or 7 years old, after lots of pleading, from me, I managed to get my hands on a very old reel to reel tape machine, that everyone thought I was too young to have, and I discovered and loved recording. 
I played guitar and wrote songs in a indie punky band ,toured, made albums and worked in Studios. Now I work from my home studio using synths, groove boxes, guitars and vocals to produce mainly ambient electronic music. I also produce images through photography and  make ceramic sculpture.
