Eclectic DJ with soul attitude

Né et grandi à Genève d’une mère camerounaise et d’un père suisse,  Afri Kara est bercé par la musique d’Afrique centrale ainsi que par le jazz et la musique classique.  D’abord amoureux des musiques et fasciné par les univers qui en découlent (clip vidéo et pochette d’album), Afri Kara se fait le passeur et le messager de ses découvertes, de ses classiques et de ses coups de coeur. Pour lui mixer est un acte politique et poétique et c’est en passant majoritairement des sonorités issues des afro-descandants.es.x, des diasporas noires, racisées et du continent africain que se fait cette déclaration. 

Afrobeat, Amapiano, Hip-hop, Soul, Funk, House, R&B, Disco sont les teintes que peuvent prendre ses sets (All Groovy Style).

Depuis 2020, il s’est produit de nombreuses fois à Genève à plusieurs endroits, au Montreux Jazz Festival à quelques reprises mais également au Sénégal, en Côte d’Ivoire et au Cameroun. Tout cela en gardant comme objectif la découverte de nouveaux univers musicaux ainsi que le redécouverte de ceux déjà connu.
