Get Up To Mont Zion

A composition I'm extremely fond of, feauting one of my most dearest themes which I simply had to repeat it in the Coda.
As a musical piece it is straightforward, and unassuming in its texture and scope, but I believe it has a certain fable-like, enchanting feeling, thus the poem title, although structurally it is very close to a sonata. 
I've explored others mode a bit ( I've modulated to F Lydian briefly), which is something I'll likely do in the future.

Doing It Up Big

Hi! This is the second session of  making my next song, “everybody’s cruel” and also the part where I overthink myself into oblivion. Right now, the song is in its worst possible form because I’ve listened to the basic bones of the instrumental for what feels like a million times. I’ve listened carefully, written every line, and tweaked what I could with what I know. I’ve rehearsed these lines to this unfinished beat that I’ve become bored.. and maybe even a little bitter. During this piece of the process I start wondering if I should even keep going. Well, the next step IS to keep going. So in order to keep going, I first need to upgrade my license from the beat maker to get access to the beat’s original stems. Once you have the stems of a song, they can be cut down and mixed around to a sound engineer’s delight and that’s what this song needs now. It needs magic! Even more sounds can be added or deleted where we all see fit. It’s really important to trust your sound engineer/producer’s vision because they are taking your song to the next level. Not only that, but they are hearing you in your most vulnerable states of happy and sad that you brought to the microphone. Once the beat’s stems and vocal stems are all sent through in one big file, the mixing and mastering process begins. Ideas and thoughts and revisions are traded back and fourth and the song gets a whole makeover. It feels like opening up a brand new present on Christmas as a little kid - but until that happens, it’s black Friday.
