John The Stranger - LoveHate Relationship (Live Mixed Set) Mastered

By 1999 I had started crate digging for records that I wanted for my collection. I was fortunate to have been noticed by a local DJ named Dee Fletcher who went by the moniker "Manic D." (Who has since passed away) He had such a presence behind the decks. Let alone his impeccable track selection. Much of which most of us had never heard of. So to say that Dee pushed those of us in our tight knit group in East Tennessee to expand our scope of musical vision is key to mention here. That being said, it was not until 2000 at a small venue called "The Proto Club," that I got to witness the movement of Jungle/DNB in full affect. 3 amazing DJs were throwing down some of the nastiest, filthiest, grimiest beats I had EVER heard!! 
Their names were DJ Hypnotic (Orin Hurley), Daniel "Terrence" Young & "Xist." I still cannot properly express how life changing that moment was for me! So in 2001 I immediately bought my first set of decks (A dj-in-a-box set of Citronics) that included a 2 channel mixer. Hungry to practice as much as humanly possible I would spend hours in my bedroom throwing on track after track. By the turn of 2001 I knew I needed to upgrade my equipment. So I got a set of Technic SL-1200's and a decent Pioneer mixer and began to play house parties and a handful of club bookings in and around the Tri-Cities area of TN. Not knowing the changes that were going to take place not so many years down the road, I found myself in the middle of some of the greatest cultural movements of my lifetime. I quickly made new connections, great friendships and lasting memories. Or so I thought. 
But as things go. Making appearances in any scene or industry means everything. As the years passed, I found myself having to reintroduce who I was to a lot of the same people I thought I had made a lasting impression with. I came to the conclusion that it did not matter who I am. 
It didn't matter who I had played with, opened for or tagged with. 
All that mattered was that I felt like a "stranger" everywhere I went. Then it hit me. Working in the shadows was what I was good at. Being humble was part of me. 
Background aside, my story doesn't matter. 
What matters is the message I am sending: 
Music is pinnacle to life. 
What does that mean? That without it, I feel life would be much harder to live. So if you have not felt music emotionally "move" you, then I urge you to search, stream, or do whatever you need to do until you find something musically that does.
 Then once you do, absorb it. 
Take it in. 
Let it soothe you. 
Heal you even. 
Because once you do, it will be the one thing that will never let you down, never leave your side and never hurt you in the ways the world can.
