The project was release independently and recorded entirely at Lost Boys Studios in Seattle and Kirkland, Washington respectively. The project features guest appearances from PARIS The Prince and David July. The EP also features a guest appearance from American content creator and adult film star, Kazumi. The project focuses on the life and mental health of John Thomas as he copes with the death of his grandfather, the end of his long-term relationship, and the struggles that come with being a musician. The EP has a heavy focus on mental health and coping mechanisms. Due to these themes, a trigger warning is issued on the tape for the title track, "DEATH./INNER PEACE".
