Writer/Vocalist Rashad Dobbins and Vocalist/Producer John Wesley Moon of the DC based musical group, the Cornel West theory, have come together to craft a musical homage to the late science fiction writer, Octavia Butler.

Inspired by her novel, Fledgling, they have a penned narrative of "Melinated Vampires", vampiric beings capable of living in the daylight. Their viewpoint is that of descendants of Shori, the black vampire protagonist of the novel. 

On "Eboni V", over the aggressive meets ambient production of John Wesley Moon, the lyrics speak from a place of power, myth and self-awareness.
