I had a brainwave as I was putting together this months show, many of the tracks I was preparing I’d already played in a recent stream that I did on New Years eve, the nature of Live streams not everyone can tune in and had many requests to put the mix on Soundcloud etc, so I’m killing two birds with one stone, I’m broadcasting the mix here for you to enjoy on all your usual platforms. The first edition of JOOF radio is born, a new beginning in broadcasting with a fresh restart avoid of genre tagging allowing a DJ like me that’s know for playing longs sets breathe musically. Though I have this freedom in clubs, having a genre attached to my radio show always felt like a hinderance, especially as genres are always evolving into different places.

So here we are, united again for our monthly gathering on the airwaves, a fresh sounding show with new features, new intros, new logo and new jingles.  I feel like a kid being reborn and you’ll feel this in this months show. Joining me on the guest mix is Dylhen from the UK.

While putting my mix together this month it reminded me of the wonderful days of the Progressive Trance era in the 90’s. For the next generation that are always curious, this mix sums up the ethos, the feeling, the ideology of those great days but today using new musical tools that live in different the genres today due to the every changing goal posts moving within genres.

JOOF Sessions have now become our weekly online gathering to momentarily step away from the darkness in this strange world into the light to smile and dance together during these uncertain and challenging times. As usual no set is ever preplanned, I had no idea what I’d be playing and headed down the deep dark rabbit hole of musical bliss.

We’re reliving this wonderful moment from when I played at BOOM Festival on The Alchemy stage in 2018. All sets have been played on BOOM radio and socials apart from mine that wasn’t recorded due to a technical problem and since then has been the biggest request.

I’m having fun over these past few weeks thinking of new ideas to keep our different themes running each week and have another for you. Probably the most annoying trait from me for everyone is that I never record sets, its the biggest question that I always get asked after a gig. The music software I use to organise my music/playlists for the CDJ’s (Rekordbox) saves all the set histories from the gigs that I’ve played, so let me replay a set that stood out for you so that you and others can relive that moment.

I’ve been a professional DJ for over 30 years and acquired so much knowledge over this time, I’ve managed to keep a healthy career staying at the forefront of the specialist electronic music scene navigating all the hurdles this industry can throw at you. I’m a self confessed technology geek and pride myself on using these tools to perform seamless mixes, treating each set like a long flowing journey where you can’t hear the gaps.

John 00 Fleming is an artist who has achieved international success in a career spanning over 30 years without dishonouring his musical essence or fans. A DJ that's known for his music knowledge, a proven musical pioneer and a leader.
His career started at the age of 15 playing his part in the exploding UK rave scene, DJing and promoting evens across the South Coast that soon got the attention of the London underground scene resulting in multiple residencies that instantly put him in the sights of the worlds music media and major record labels opening the doors to his international career.

John went on to mix and compile 40+ DJ mix compilations for labels such as Virgin, Telstar, Sony, and Universal that secured his rise to the top, Gold discs line his studio walls celebrating over 10 million sales along with the worlds leading music store Beatport making John artist of the month acknowledging his investment, loyally and dedication to the electronic scene.
His ability to constantly move forward musically has kept him on the cutting edge frontline of the electronic world throughout his career gaining resect from peers along with building a cult following as he continues to break boundaries of electronic music and genres making him one of the most unique DJ’s on this planet seeing him perform across multiple genres events, yet keeping his integrity in tact with what fans call ‘The JOOF Sound’. The JOOF sound is as unpretentious as the artist, and is best described as deep textured and hypnotic. Performing regularly at the likes of CreamVields festival, EDC festivals, BOOM Festival, Ozora festival, Tomorrowland along with a huge list of clubs from Ministry of Sound, Avalon and Zouk shows just how diverse his attraction is.

As a music producer John’s esteem within the industry has garnered respect from electronic luminaries like Jean Michael Jarre and Muse and while humbly accepting peer endorsement he continues to let his production skills do the talking. Following the release of his artists albums ‘Nine Lives’ and ‘One.hundred.ten WKO’, John switched his focus to scoring for major TV networks and Vilms, working alongside The Royal Philharmonic orchestra at the famed Abbey Road studios, London (home of The Beatles) where his work has featured in numerous movies.
