The first edition of JOOF radio is born, a new beginning in broadcasting with a fresh restart avoid of genre tagging allowing a DJ like me that’s know for playing longs sets breathe musically. JOOF - The human jukebox.

The DJ world has embraced live streaming in these uncertain times and there’s a lot of music to digest every week, so I want to mix things up a little and add some fun in-between my usual mixes. If I had to name one thing that I dislike when I’m playing, it would be requests. I don’t mean this in a rude way, I’m unfolding a musical story whilst also reading the crowd so my DJ gut instinct is telling me where and when the story should unfold, and requests usually don’t fit within my vision.
So as requests are a burden for me, I thought let’s turn that on its head and all I’ll did on this session is play requests! JOOF Sessions 006 - Ambient. 

As you know I’ve been trying to add different flavours to each weeks JOOF Sessions gatherings, this week we’re going to do something different and play an ambient set. For those who have experienced my open to close sets you’ll already know I open the evening with some ambient vibes, this not only creates anticipation for the night ahead but is also the roots of the DJ you know John 00 Fleming. Ambient music is the roots of how it all started for me and what got me fascinated with electronic music in the 80’s and still today influences the JOOF sound. 
These are tracks that I regularly play at home, full rich sounds, dreamy and hypnotic, they are very powerful and stimulate new parts of your mind. We’re all going through difficult times at the moment, though we’re getting stronger each week, we still have those bolt of lightening reality checks of the world situation. I want this session to put you in a different mindset to take you away from everything, to give us hope, happiness and appreciate everything around us. Music is a very powerful healing tool and something I turn to all the time. I’m going to leave the camera pointed down because being honest with you, many of these tracks bring me to tears, but in a good way. Many people are holding mass pressure on their shoulders at the moment and not released tears yet, I hope this offers a release for you, you’ll feel better after. 
 Keep this set for years to come, and it will make you smile. I’ll also make a Spotify playlist of this too after and keep adding to it.

John 00 Fleming - JOOF Sessions 009 (When a ‘Trance’ DJ does Techno)

You all know by now that I'm a DJ thats simply passionate about music, this comes first to me. I haven't been comfortable over the past few years how the scene has progressed with people expecting DJ's to play all the hits when they perform in clubs. DJ's get pigeonholed into certain sub genres and are expected to play that sound only. I myself sometimes seemed to become a victim of that, I found myself playing harder sets due to the pressure/climate and tagged a 'Psy DJ'??

I'm a DJ that dips into all musical worlds, I simply play good music no matter what genre it takes me too. A true DJ should have the tools to hand to handle and control a dancefloor. I'm not playing half the music I want too while preforming in clubs, but this is being addressed with my JOOF Editions nights, longer DJ sets and playing at more underground clubs. My recent Essential mix also helped open the eyes to the other side of John 00 Fleming that the new generation of clubbers didn't know. My dedicated fans will know my 'White label' CD compilation series, and my previous Essential mixes in 2000/1 that have always showcased my deeper side. This is the true side of John 00 Fleming that is coming back! These changes have made me fall in love with DJing again, as I use the musical tools to express my musical story. The JOOF sound is back!

This is a mix I made while falling in love with my deeper side again that I want to share with you. This is what you'll hear from me while playing longer sets that will build to the hard side that you are more familiar with. To me, this is music to dance too. Music to get lost in. Music to escape. Music with emotions. 

I hope you feel the same and it brings you as much happiness as it has to me. Music is a very powerful tool.

Concentrating on quality over quantity has been the key to the success of having over 3 million subscribers that have been built over it's history. 

This month we proudly celebrate 10-years of Global Trance Grooves being on the digital airwaves. John has thoughtfully programmed ten of his favourite producers to broadcast a 12-Hour birthday special that will be hosted by our partners DI.FM
