Missing Link

From as early as he can remember John Andreas always had a strong passion and admiration for music. Throughout elementary and high school he played all percussion, quickly becoming one of the top drummers in the school district. John was briefly introduced to the DJ world around 16 years old. At that time he was playing hip-hop at events in Long Island, New York, where he grew up alongside DJ Rick Wonder. John always had an appreciation for all genres of music but in his adolescent years was primarily listening to hip-hop with minimal exposure to Electronic Dance Music (E.D.M). When John was 17 he was introduced to the NYC E.D.M. scene by attending one of the legendary marathon parties at Soundfactory, now known as Pacha NYC. Following that introduction, his appreciation for all forms of E.D.M. grew very strongly and there was no more hip-hop contained in his music library (just the classic tracks). 
A year after John graduated from high school, undecided about college, he started working for mortgage companies quickly becoming a manager in charge of several employees. Doing very well with real estate, the DJ’n was forgotten between ages 18-23. During those years John was able to attend multiple big events in the New York & Miami E.D.M. scene, gaining tons of music exposure and knowledge from world class DJs Danny Tenaglia, Victor Calderone, DJ Vibe, Erick Morillo, Jonathan Peters, Peter Rauhofer, Tom Stephan, Boris, and many more on a frequent basis. 
At 23, John decided to relocate to California by himself and see what the West Coast had to offer. In making this move to a totally new atmosphere, it gave him the chance to see if there was something he loved more than real estate and without much thought music came to mind. He then quickly purchased all the necessary equipment to DJ, starting with CDJ’s and eventually upgrading to Traktor Scratch Pro. He spent the next two years full time learning to master the art of mixing, getting music, filtering thru and organizing his music library on the sunny beaches of California. John Andreas went under DJ name JohnNy G. while living in California and for a brief time back in New York. While in California he got the chance to play well known venues and private events in the L.A. & Orange County area such as Code, Ember, Avec, La Vida, Green Door, Josephs, & El Centro. 
He decided to come back to New York after two years of experiencing California and work on breaking into the New York E.D.M. scene. After spending a few months looking for proper management, it didn’t take him long to get his first New York party going at CHI on March 11th 2011. From this debut, John has been frequently booked at multiple Long Island & NYC venues. With his ability to incorporate many forms of E.D.M. in his sets, John has been getting lots of exposure throughout New York, allowing him to build a steady following. It is now December 2011 and with less than ten months as a DJ in the New York E.D.M. scene, John Andreas has had the honor of playing at some of the biggest venues in New York including GLO, Cielo, & Pacha NYC. He recently changed his artist name from JohnNy G. to John Andreas, and is really looking to further enhancing his sound and now break into the production side of the industry. November 2011 marks the month John shifted his focus to learning the software used to produce music and looks forward to making his first productions/remixes/edits. Stay Tuned.
