Introducing our next Sister of Sound - AMELIA LACKMANN

Melbourne-based DJ, designer, visual artist and long-time dance floor devotee - cutting her teeth at Melbourne’s underground institution Killing Time in 2013, she grew to become a regular fixture on the techno bar’s line-ups. Amelia has since developed a distinct palette of uplifting beats and a reputation for energising dance floors with good vibrations across a number of events and venues. 

Her unwavering passion for music and rave culture has seen her artistic work spread across several Melbourne venues and festivals including The Liberty Social, Curtin House, Section 8, Let Them Eat Cake, My Aeon and most recently, as a producer of Festival No.23.

Amelia weaves through an extensive understanding of electronic music in this mix, drawing on tribal drum pattern elements with techno-like synth sounds.. curated to push and pull you through this extended journey.

I am proud to present to you: F.A.M.E In collaboration with Naomi, we took the crowd on a hyped up journey into their inner child. A cabaret style DJ set with Fashion, Art, Music, Entertainment. The moulin rouge is calling, and you are invited. Forget those worries and let yourself feel the music.

Here's a fun experimental set at the Exchange (XCHC) in Ōtautahi Christchurch for The Dancing Plant II party on August 26th 2023. I took on the self-imposed challenge to only play songs that reference plants in the track title, which was surprisingly hard - but also a super fun way to discover lots of new music.

Bizarre Bazaar is a stunning little boutique festival organized by a highly creative team just out of Wellington over Labour weekend.  

Though I will always and forever have a gaping hole to fill without my main supporter and adventure buddy by my side, this party was such good vibes and just what I needed following the hardest winter of my life.. I'm honored to have been included on this lineup of such talented artists and performers 🙏    

It was also super special to have my amazing son Luka with me for the weekend who celebrated his 20th Birthday on the Sunday 💗 I graduated from motherhood that day too, thanks to the beautiful Liz and Nicole 🙏💥

It was an absolute honor to play this set, at my favourite venue in the entire world - Haad Why Nam!
It was especially special to play this set along side my best friend, Danger Lou.
Im incredibly proud to see how much she has progressed, and had the most fun I've ever had DJing playing alongside her.
