It’s been a year and a half since we last saw La Fleur grace Watergate Records with a proper EP, having been featured on remix duties for Sasha’s ‘Trigonometry’ and her contribution ‘Femton’ to the celebrated 15 Years compilation.

So her brand new ‘Outbreaker’ EP arrives just in time to curb any impatience you might have waiting for her signature blend of house and techno aesthetics fused with modern production techniques that sets her apart from her peers.

La Fleur kicks things off with a wild heaving bass line and crisp, distinctive organic claps on ‘Devil Sigh’ setting the tone for the hypnotic groove that soon turns into a high energy burner of explosive bursts and an incredibly unique lead guaranteeing an absolute hit. It only gets better when one of the hottest acts on the scene, Tuff City Kids, lend their talents for a remix and turn ‘Devils Sigh’ into an analog heavy, future-retro banger that’s as different as it is the same as the original, creating a perfect alternative to the already killer original.

Wrapping things up, La Fleur takes it a little slower and deeper with ‘Outbreaker’ by utilizing lush organic percussion and washed out guitars to build a tune that will be the anthem for early mornings, open airs and beach sessions alike. We couldn’t be happier to have the first lady of Watergate back at the controls and we think you will agree.

After a 3 years break John Gazoo is back on track. His project combines many different musical facets, which stand out and hit heavy, with a versatile concept that is constantly being expanded and refined.

His productions reflect year round musical curiosity, experience and fresh experimentation, through which his daily musical perception is formed.

As a graduate Modernist (Mods- English youth culture,) his roots lie in Jazz and Soul; a musical style that is likewise multi-facetted, and the foundation of all his ideas to come, back when John was very young.

When Gilles Peterson once staged an all-nighter in London, John, driven by Jazz Fever, packed a bag, pulled the Vespa out of the garage, and embarked on a club searching road trip – an unforgettable experience of his early youth.

The later ’work’ in record shops during the 90’s deepened his interest in music as a profession –finding new creativity, he discovered House Music, and dedicated himself to studio work.

For John, like the whole electronic music movement, Kraftwerk (who occaisionally turned up next door in a Düsseldorf studio) were a huge inspiration.

Meanwhile, several years have passed, and today Gazoo doesn’t get quite so carried away, as he knows exactly where he should be going. His releases on ’Puzzle Trax’ and his home based label ’Le Cirque’, indicate precisely this musical direction.

As winner of the Compost remix contest, he easily convinced the label with his interpretation of Alif Tree’s ’Au Revoir,’ so that now his own first release on the renowned label will appear.
