"This mix is called “Underwater Dreaming” - named from the first track by Takashi Kokubo. I immediately thought of this song when I was asked to put something together. I spend a lot of time in the ocean, swimming, surfing and diving - and while those experiences are not ones I can easily put into words, I will say that it’s the closest I’ve ever felt to flying. I always leave the ocean feeling invigorated and enlivened. I also tend to feel very peaceful and centered - so I tried to create a mix that I would like to listen to in that time just after I’ve gotten out of the ocean and I’m resting up with a cup of tea, dreaming about what I’ll do next. The ocean is a profoundly important source of inspiration for me - and I am a massive fan of the work that Coral Morphologic does - so making this mix for Coral City Camera has been a total joy. Thanks for listening ✌️"

Cool Maritime is the project of Santa Cruz-raised electronic musician and filmmaker Sean Hellfritsch. An avid ocean adventurer now living in the Pacific Northwest, Hellfritsch makes immersive musical soundscapes. His latest album Big Earth Energy, out now on Western Vinyl, plumbs the depths of his multimedia mind and naturalist heart, spinning an impressionistic narrative world off of cultural touchstones like the PC game MYST, and the work of Studio Ghibli composer Joe Hisaishi. Big Earth Energy is the soundtrack to a hypothetical video game with a pointedly ecological premise, and a twist of psychedelic charm.
