So twerkin is now poppin in the news 
As if P poppin wasn't poppin back when poppin wasn't so pop...ular
Across the nation 
I remember being in Thurgood Marshall's basement 
With one of those stank faces
Watching girls shake it 
Shh shake it 
For their hood
Cuz it was all good 
No matter if their parents misunderstood 
Cuz look...
We came a long way from doing the whop and snake
I say 
Just come to New Orleans 
Go to any DJ and tell him play that Beat 
And you'll see 
How hips seem
To defy gravity 
How waist lines are aligned with the stars 
Cuz lawd
There's got to be something cosmic 
About poppin'
There's a talent 
To have such balance
I'm not saying that cuz I'm a man just...
Ask anyone that can't do it... 
See they blend with the music 
Each movement in tune with
The beat 
Now lets see... 
The Walmart vid goes viral
You got people "twerkin" from New Orleans to Dublin, Ohio 
American Dad even caught on 
Bounce rappers all on...
TV
And now it's all outlandish 
Now that Hanna Montana is dancing 
Some can't stand it
Others applaud it 
People in New Orleans want credit for something they started 
I call it...
Tribal...
Visit any island 
Or place of African descent 
And see how hips
Move so rhythmic 
But a small town in Louisiana brings up religion 
Says theyre against it...
its against God's will
Has plans on locking up any adult or kid
For at least 30 days so they say
For the "new" but ancient dance craze...
Now known as... twerkin...

Diced Pineapples Full

As a kid I would step on anthills just to watch the ants scatter in chaos.
I’d sometimes stick my hand in them and let the ants crawl on my fingers and before they were able to bite me I’d crush them with my other hand and laugh at how helpless they were.
Sick kid, I know…
But people grow
And I grew
And the older I got the less entertaining terrorizing ants became
Cuz see I started to identify with them
This life
This system we live in
Is no different than that of the ant…

Mother’s day…

An army of people gather in laughter
Moving with rhythm 
In sync with the jazz echoing across miles from brass instruments
In New Orleans , A unique anthill surrounded by water, No one expected the danger they’d soon face.
Gun shots fire and people scatter in chaos
While gunman would continue to fire shots wounding 19 helpless people
Hundreds of others run for cover
And when the gunfire stops
People have no choice but to patch up and continue to strut through this anthill…

For the ants…

I pray
I pray that whoever your god is restore faith
And heal every wound
That the evil does not consume you
And that you don’t walk around followed by a dark cloud
Because some clown or clowns
Decided to step on your life
Destroy your home
For reasons unknown
And that you grow
Grow to be bigger and better
Than May 12th twenty-thirteen 
That the screams fade to the back of your memory
And that nightmares
Are replaced by great dreams
That you continue to feast on positive energy
And understand it will take time
Know it’s not your fault
Know someone loves you
Know the world is praying for you
Know you’re not alone…

To the destroyers…
Why?
You know what…
Never mind…
I pray that god forgives you…

For the anthill…

This isn’t the first time you’ve been stepped on
It probably won’t be the last
You’ve been flooded
The world thought there was no coming back
And you returned
Bigger
Greater 
Than ever
You know what 
Forget
a meta…
For years New Orleans has been terrorized by crime
Lack of education and poverty
We as citizens have sovereignty 
But rather be chattel 
We chat
Because we are afraid to tattle 
Because there’s a continuous battle
Between the shooter and the witness
Being realistic
I know it’d be senseless to say we’d completely end this
But there are solutions 
To reduce it
Professionals should start visiting these schools and
Parents should stop depending on these power structures to produce them.
Kids are learning from day one
Your son is my son
Should be the attitude of everyone
We are one as a community
We all eat
Let no one starve
Let’s reduce the population of black men  being housed on Tulane and broad
Lower the poverty line
And raise each household’s income
Love as much as you can
Someone else like you love yourself and then some…
Just take notes from the ants
A complex society of living things
All working together to sustain life…
And if anyone tries to put a hand in your hill
You BITE!
