Captain Hook - Let There Be Light (John Monkman Remix)

Système é a faixa que define a identidade do novo álbum de Ritornello, RITO. Com uma abordagem mais crua e direta do que o album anterior, a música apresenta uma estética techno escura e noturna, com foco em timbres secos, estrutura linear e progressão contida.

A construção rítmica é firme e constante, com kicks pesados e elementos percussivos que funcionam como engrenagens, sugerindo um ambiente mecânico e repetitivo. Os sintetizadores têm função mais textural do que harmônica, ampliando a sensação de clausura e tensão.

Ao contrário de faixas mais melódicas do álbum anterior, Système aposta na repetição como forma de hipnose e no espaço negativo como elemento ativo da composição. O resultado é uma faixa sóbria, funcional, feita para a pista — mas sem concessões estéticas.


Système defines the sonic direction of Ritornello’s new album, RITO. Marking a shift from the last album, the track embraces a darker, more stripped-down approach to techno, with dry textures, linear structure, and a restrained progression.

The rhythmic foundation is solid and mechanical, driven by heavy kicks and percussive elements that resemble gears in motion. Synths are used more for texture than harmony, enhancing the track’s sense of confinement and tension.

Unlike the more melodic tracks from Terra Escura, Système relies on repetition as a tool for hypnosis and uses negative space as an active compositional element. The result is a sober, functional track — designed for the floor, but with no aesthetic compromises.

Exclusive Fiberroot 'Roccodrilo (Shall Ocin Remix)'

Clash Lion Records, run by Terr, Shall Ocin and Daniel Watts, is ready to release Fiberroot's EP 'Tierra'. The three tracker comes with two originals, 'Con Licencia Sibonei' and 'Roccodrillo', and Shall Ocin's majestic remix of the latter. The Argentinian DJ and producer, who has released on labels such as Bpitch Control, Ellum or Last Night On Earth, delivers a stomping techno take, which is built around twirling synth sounds with the potential of creating mental dance floor experiences. As Shall Ocin's take on 'Roccodrillo' proceeds the artist shifts his focus on sounds and exchanges the twirling synth with more calm synth chords giving the listener and dancer the opportunity to digest the aforementioned mental musical rollercoaster ride. 

Fiberroots's EP 'Tierra' will be released September 7th, 2018 on Clash Lion.

John Monkman stands at the forefront of the global electronic music scene. Known for his dynamic performances and cutting-edge studio productions, Monkman has earned a reputation as both a live music pioneer and a master of sound design.

Affiliated with some of the most prestigious labels in electronic music, including Kompakt, Ellum, Beesemyer Music, Siamese, and Anjunadeep, Monkman delivered the spellbinding track Siren for Kompakt and collaborated with Pete Tong on Ecstasis for Maceo Plex's Ellum Audio. His releases, such as the Komplex EP on Anjunadeep and the versatile Tune In Turn On EP for Ellum, highlight his remarkable range. With two Beatport number ones—his remix of Solomon Grey's Twilight and his single Don’t Have to Be Beautiful—Monkman has further cemented his influence on the global electronic music scene.

Equally compelling is Monkman’s remix portfolio. His remix of U Love for Sasha’s LNOE 100th release, supported by Patrice Bäumel and Sasha, showcases his creative versatility. His rework of Space Date by Adam Beyer and Green Velvet for Drumcode demonstrates the respect he commands within the industry. Monkman has also been remixed by Moby. In 2023, he reunited with Pete Tong for an official remix of Duran Duran's Give It Up, marking another standout moment in his career.

On the live stage, Monkman’s impact is undeniable. He has headlined festivals like the UK’s Noisily Festival, brought his live set to the Ozora Festival in Hungary, and performed at the Anjunadeep Festival in Albania. His recent achievements include headlining Rainbow Serpent 2021. The debut of John Monkman: Live at Coachella 2018 with The DoLab was a pivotal moment, revealing his innovative approach to live performance.

The year 2024 has been a defining chapter for Monkman. His latest live show, Pulse, premiered in Paris through a collaboration with Collectif Scale, breaking new ground with its kinetic light art installation. Filmed in a Paris warehouse on July 6th, this show delivers an immersive audiovisual experience that pushes creative boundaries. In the same year, Monkman released Khord on Anjunadeep, followed by three singles—Vader, Roller Vox, and MAYA—on Beesemyer Music.
