Everyone’s favourite bangin’ Brisbane duo X CLUB. ready up four typically in your face cuts of driving, textured techno on 1Ø PILLS MATE that have us dreaming of giant warehouses and sweaty hugs. Channeling big rave energy from grime, electro and breaks - and ultimately using this influence to texture their heavy sound - the pair take inspiration from the 90’s rave movement and contemporary experimental artists.

‘Turning A Blind Eye To This Nonsense’ delivers on the escapism it promises, staying true to the driven aesthetic that the duo have become known for; sirens blaring, deep atmospherics and uncompromising rave. Fellow Australian Mutant Joe is enlisted on ‘Silo’ - an acid dipped techno-electro workout spawned from the depths of hell.

The record's biggest moments arrive on ‘Beta Rays’, where both the artist's interest in sound design and sonic engineering across their respective solo projects really shines across 8 minutes of cinematic rave. Managing to capture the nostalgic rave feeling that Bicep’s ‘Glue’ channelled to roaring success, X CLUB. serve up an emotionally-driven journey that is destined to dominate sound systems around the globe.

Their UK influence is felt most heavily on ‘300mpbs’ (½ of the duo, Benedict Clarke, is actually from Bristol); a gnarly cut of snarling drum & bass influenced breaks that is sure to incite a gun-finger trigger rush in the club.

John Monkman returns to Ellum Audio with a pair of well-crafted cosmic techno tracks.

London-based John Monkman is the founder of Beesemyer Music but also serves up his rich sounds on Kompakt, Last Night On Earth and Drumcode. He works across multiple styles and as much as making music for the club, he also cooks up richly atmospheric and emotive music. He has worked with Pete Tong, Bryan Ferry and Nile Rodgers and when on tour, he plays live in the world's best venues.
First up is the immediately arresting 'Perception' with its flashes of synth, whirring drones and textured drums. Spoken words bring a sense of paranoia as twitchy effects, icy percussion and swinging drums all work you into a frenzy. Monkman took inspiration from a Timothy Leary interview for the record envisioning “a phrase repeating with a synthesizer response, in essence a conversation between man & machine”.

Second cut 'Impulse' is a more groove-driven tune with kicks that rock back and forth under slapping hits. The synth designs are futuristic and the whole vibe is one of intergalactic exploration of the unknown.
Both of these hugely accomplished tracks will bring a scene of cinematic drama to any set.

Adriatique have revealed the very first release to come out on their brand new label, Siamese. The three-track EP from the duo, entitled ‘Patterns of Eternity’, will be released on the 14th October, with presales already live.

The title track, running at 11 minutes long, is a hypnotic journey driven by layers of synth lines, with a powerful low end. Meanwhile, ‘Womb’ on the B-side is a darker, more uncompromising affair. Built for the dancefloor, the track has already been a success on the club circuit.

Final track ‘Quadrivia’ channels the minimal influences that the duo cite as an inspiration, yet features the classic characteristics of Adriatique’s production style; a detail-orientated focus on the layering and dropping away of percussion and a bassline built for the best club sound systems.

This debut EP on the new label is just the start of a new chapter for Adriatique; the Siamese project is a shared dream for them both. Although it is first and foremost a music label, the duo envision Siamese opening up to a broad variety of arts, providing a home for boundary-pushing creatives of various genres.

John Monkman stands at the forefront of the global electronic music scene. Known for his dynamic performances and cutting-edge studio productions, Monkman has earned a reputation as both a live music pioneer and a master of sound design.

Affiliated with some of the most prestigious labels in electronic music, including Kompakt, Ellum, Beesemyer Music, Siamese, and Anjunadeep, Monkman delivered the spellbinding track Siren for Kompakt and collaborated with Pete Tong on Ecstasis for Maceo Plex's Ellum Audio. His releases, such as the Komplex EP on Anjunadeep and the versatile Tune In Turn On EP for Ellum, highlight his remarkable range. With two Beatport number ones—his remix of Solomon Grey's Twilight and his single Don’t Have to Be Beautiful—Monkman has further cemented his influence on the global electronic music scene.

His recent achievements include headlining Rainbow Serpent 2021. The debut of John Monkman: Live at Coachella 2018 with The DoLab was a pivotal moment, revealing his innovative approach to live performance.

The year 2024 has been a defining chapter for Monkman. His latest live show, Pulse, premiered in Paris through a collaboration with Collectif Scale, breaking new ground with its kinetic light art installation. Filmed in a Paris warehouse on July 6th, this show delivers an immersive audiovisual experience that pushes creative boundaries. In the same year, Monkman released Khord on Anjunadeep, followed by three singles—Vader, Roller Vox, and MAYA—on Beesemyer Music.
