Venice Afterburn '24

We spent two weeks in Japan, and at the beginning of our adventure we lost our beloved dog, Falcor. It was a surreal environment to feel grief and yet be surrounded by beauty, grace, and wonder. This Lushpod is a collection of signs and sounds that I collected during my trip.  Some of these songs were heard in underground nightclubs, but others were simply elevator music at department stores.  Japan is a rich multi-dimensional country.  This album is dedicated to a couple of DJs that really hit me with their sounds, Iori and Kyomi Togashi. Your sets blew me away, and I hope to bring you across the pond one of these days.  LP 78 features tracks from Floating Points, Robert Owens, Grupo Um, Traumer, Steve Bug, Kuniyuki Takahashi, Talaboman, and Kyoto Jazz Massive.

Ladies and gentlemen, his DJ moniker, "Chubby Unicorn," is quite self-explanatory. In terms of musical genre, he falls under the category of a house music DJ. However, he is affectionately known as "The Rhino."

For more than 25 years, The Rhino's DJ skills have garnered him numerous accolades, starting with the title of "The first DJ in history to..." Guinness Book of World Records recently responded, saying, "While your proposal is certainly impressive, we believe it may be too specialized for inclusion in the Guinness World Records reference." According to SoundCloud.com, The Rhino's mixes are currently enjoying airplay in over 30 countries. In 2017, The Rhino's live mix from the Burning Man festival, titled "Sunrise from the Golden Gate," achieved the distinction of becoming one of SoundCloud's Top 10 Burning Man Sunrise Sets of All Time, amassing over 270,000 plays.

Recently, The Rhino has found a new passion, albeit temporarily postponed. He's been planning a global children's hospital tour, where he will host silent disco bingo games for children confined to their hospital beds. Hopefully, in the near future, you can expect The Rhino's organization, the Golden Gate Project, to visit a children's hospital in your vicinity!
