Recorded during in a kitchen of a Far Rockaway apartment, this was a demo of a track meant to appear on the first EP for the band we were calling Harper Hadley at the time.

Where's The Pleasure (demo)

Drank a lot of whiskey, set up a piano/synth loop on my Kaossilator Pro, and just started playing. This song was unplanned and improvised and I think that adds to the feeling of the song. The best part is that if you listen with headphones, you can hear the L train go by a couple times, as this was recorded on a summer night with the windows open.

01 Choice Is Made (Demo)

A demo of a song that came together pretty quickly. This is maybe the 5th time playing through the song. Lyrics are improvised, but will probably stay how they are. The programming and additional awesome sounds provided by Patrick Small of Shrimp & Grits fame.

Summer Shy

One of the last songs I wrote this spring/early summer before the music drought hit me. I'm looking forward to recording this as a full band but light instrumentation song. Probably not use any guitar chords, just have the guitar play the melody line heard in the beginning and between verses. I envision this song sitting in an album with a bunch of other short, 2-2:30 minute long songs that don't have bridges, just nice melodies, to the point and then onto the next song. Punk rock pop folk songs. Boom.

Point of View (demo)

Brand new tune, lyrics started and completed a couple minutes before recording this rough version. The line, "bringing love into a heart where love's never been before" popped into my head in the shower and the song was kind of written around that. I'm digging the melody of the chorus, not sure about the verses though... Let's let it soak for a bit.

The Wall (demo)

A song I wrote when I first moved to New York at the end of 2007. I don't think I ever recorded it, but I just found the chords and rough lyrics written out in an old notebook. Thought I'd dust it off and see how it feels. Feels nice.
