Billy Preston has always been an important figure in music for me, and I asked the very fine vocalist Martin Jones to join me with his soulful singing on this 70s classic.  Billy was always one of the funkiest keyboard players out there, and was often called the 5th Beatle.   Because of Billy's superb piano, synth and organ skills, he was a top session player and toured with many musicians including Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Little Richard and Sam Cooke.  Here's our tribute to the late great Billy Preston, who wrote hits such as Space Race, Will it Go Round in Circles, Outa Space, That's the Way God Planned it and co-wrote You are So Beautiful, which Joe Cocker then made famous. 7am on a spring morning at Blessington Lakes in County Wicklow and all was still, suddenly i heard the most amazing sound that broke the silence, 2 amazing white swans flew out of the mist with such gracefulness and power it took my breath away, i wrote this song to try and capture the beauty and style of these amazing birds.

This song is a new one written this year and it's about how we've all become Broken Mirrors in some way. All of us, we were a loving people, not a cruel people, we were a caring people, not a hateful people, we were a hard working and strong people but also a very fragile people and I feel we've become a little bit more shattered in recent years. Our beliefs and hopes have diminished somewhat and this song reflects that broken mirror in us all. It's harder and harder to stay positive in this crazy hateful world today. I sang this one since Charlie was not available. I think the mix was too loud but I'm having problems with my computer and couldn't adjust the sound in my film editor like I usually do.

I worked hard on the video and tried to follow the lyrics as close as possible. It will drop on August 1st on YouTube. It's about our lack of empathy as of late and this constant hatred for other people that I now sense in this great country of ours!.  So I asked myself, how did we get here? When a country starts depriving its citizens of basic needs like healthcare and not helping our senior citizens and ignoring the less fortunate among us and stop assistance for veterans (like me) that risked our lives for this country, then we're on a road to destruction and our government has failed us.  All I can do is write songs, so songs I shall write. I still believe in love, love is always the answer!  Take care & God bless!🙏😎✌🏼

I am not a musician but music plays a very important role in my creative life! I am an artist/designer and music is my companion and my muse in the long hours I spend working in my studio! 
I am immensely impressed and grateful for all the talented and inspiring musicians whose work graces this Cloud, and I will always re-post sounds that I love (and will listen to again) - knowing that others will enjoy them!

I'm a singer-songwriter from Durban, South Africa. Having being raised in the church I was advantaged with a ready-made audience. Their kindness, patience and ecouragement gave me the confidence to improve my songwriting and to take it quite seriously. At times when the lyrics had a touch of controversy, they never thought it scandalous, which further encouraged me to write on social issues, love songs, and songs with just a story. 
By my mid-teens I was heavily influenced by the hippy gospel songwriter Larry Norman, which may explain why into my 50's I still have long hair! Through his music I learned that songs do have a greater purpose. 
As a young upstart I was blessed with a kind and forgiving congregation. Today I'm blessed with a very tolerant family and a bunch of great friends. I love what I do!
