This mix is dedicated to the birthday girl, Alicia. One word comes to mind when thinking Alicia, and that is “champion”. She will energized bunny through the night. Coordinating, decor, taking care of food, being funny cute and just unapologetically herself. She’ll party harder than anyone and then be up cleaning and prepare a full on gourmet breakfast. Straight champion. We had so much fun celebrating her and Talin yesterday! For the 111th edition of Desert Hut Podcast Series, we’re pleased to welcome Da Le (Havana).

Dj´s & producers Iván Lejardi and David Casas have merged their aural universes with their duo “Da Le (Havana)”, a collaboration that blends powerful electronics with the wealth of traditional and Afro-Cuban music.

Fresh from the producers labs, Da Le (Havana) rhythmic experiment has been put to the test at Havana´s most in-demand venues, such as Fabrica De Arte Cubano (FAC), Havana World Music Fest, and Eyeife Fest among others.

Here their sound recipe hints at an evolution in the Cuban electronic music scene, traversing local frontiers and setting up an identity amongst the international circuit.

Both artists are finding in the past and present of their Cuban roots the very substance of what has made the island a true cultural hub for years. “Da Le (Havana)” is borne to the world by the strength of Cuban musical traditions and the producer´s will to uphold this heritage from their unique experience within electronic music, committed to the contemporary scene; styles like Afro-House, Deep House and Afro-Beat are naturally found in their repertoire.

Born and raised in Los Angeles,CA Johnny OM from an early age knew that music was his life as he walked into his first record shop at the age of 9 to make his first album purchase. Discovering Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Buddy Guy, B.B. King & Dizzy Gillespie, Johnny OM was hooked from that day on. In his 20's, he began frequenting clubs like Avalon in Hollywood where he first  saw John Digweed play. He was Johnny OM's inspiration for his music selection and eventual career in the DJ industry.

His first DJ debut was at Exchange LA, followed by Avalon Hollywood & Le Jardin la He currently plays at Various Nightclubs and bars around LA & recently made his Las Vegas debut. He has played alongside many notable artists, producers/dj’s such as DAVI, Kerala Dust, Isaiah Martin, Matan Caspi, Stan Kolev, Taches, Pattern Drama, MIRA, Holmar, Izhevski, Lost Desert & more...
