this is a song I wrote for the Alters, a ragtag bunch of fellow amputees,,,sometimes we put our parts together to make a hole……this is the 2nd take with Don “heavyhand” Jones one of the best one legged drummers on the block……this is as far as we got before we started to get a bit “legless”……good fun though……..

Let’s not mince words here. Trump is the embodiment of corruption, greed, and incompetence. He’s a man who has spent his entire life looking out for himself, exploiting others, and leaving chaos in his wake. As De Niro so eloquently put it: *“He’s a dog. He’s a pig. He’s a con. He’s a bullsh*t artist. He’s a mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”* This isn’t just about politics—it’s about morality. It’s about standing up to a man who has no respect for the rule of law, no respect for the truth, and no respect for the American people.  

Trump’s presidency was a disaster. He divided the country, emboldened hate, and failed to deliver on his promises. He’s a man who thrives on chaos, who lies with every breath, and who cares only about his own ego. As De Niro said: *“He’s a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a mutt. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s an idiot. He’s a fool.”* And yet, here we are, facing the possibility of him returning to power. We cannot let that happen. We cannot allow this man to continue to poison our democracy.  

This is not just about Trump—it’s about the people who enable him. The sycophants, the cowards, and the opportunists who stand by his side and allow his corruption to flourish. They are just as guilty as he is. As De Niro said: *“They’re all scum. They’re all mutts. They don’t know what they’re talking about.”* We need to hold them accountable. We need to stand up and fight back.  

The stakes are too high to sit on the sidelines. This is about the soul of our nation. It’s about protecting our democracy, our values, and our future. We cannot afford to let Trump and his enablers win. We must vote, we must organize, and we must make our voices heard. As De Niro said: *“We’re gonna fight back. We’re gonna fight back with everything we’ve got.”*  

So let’s do this. Let’s come together and defeat Trump once and for all. Let’s show the world that we are better than this. That we will not tolerate corruption, lies, and hate. That we will stand up for what’s right. As De Niro said: *“We’re gonna win. We’re gonna win because we have to.”*  

This is our moment. This is our fight. Let’s get to work.

This song, in case you're not familiar, was written by Medeski, Martin, and Wood with guitarist John Scofield, and performed by them on an album eponymously named A Go Go. Josh has always been a huge fan of both MMW and J.S., and has always wanted to play more of their music, as he used to cover a couple of their songs in one of his main old bands. 
  Josh laid down the bass and after going back an forth a couple of times with Ken and his thrilling drums, they established the rhythm section. Soon after, Josh added his jazzy guitar, as well. We needed someone to play John Medeski's part, too, of course. So, we asked JJ if he'd do the honors, which he did in grand fashion. He also added some triangle hits you can listen for, that add a little bit more pizzaz to the whole thing. 
  Once it was all laid down, we needed a good mix, and no one is gooder than Stephen, so we asked him to mix it for us, which he did in his always pro manner. 
  This was a lot of fun to record, and we hope that comes through. This is a stripped down Eclectic Collective collab, where most of what we're all doing is improv. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.

A Go Go by Medeski, Martin, Wood and Scofield (Eclectic Collective cover)

Our little band has been busy over the summer months working on songs for a fall release.  This is perhaps one of the more spiritually-centered songs we have written and published.  How responsible are we for the evil that has come upon the world, for the resultant suffering it has brought. Peter's beautiful words begin with an act of redemption for mankind, but end with judgement not by God's choice, but man's will. 
The words did not come easily as Peter confesses that his pen "hovered above the last line for several minutes" not wanting to write it, but with a prophet's conviction, knew it must be written. The question is begged by those who will to believe, does the beauty of God's creation also involve justice and judgement, what Luther called "God's alien work"?  
Peter's verse has never been more poignant or Seagull's production more finely crafted. His track note also offers further insight into our thinking on the song and is well worth reading.

I'm so thankful to be a songwriter! Feels good to express like this. Just letting loose! This by far is the most different song I've ever written. Circumstances can hit you in crazy ways. Who would've thought my favorite dinosaur would be the title of a song lol. It surprised me but I went with it. The glorious Ankylosaurus, built like a tank. There are some very cold hearts out there, that tell lies, that are just so cruel, that betray, wanting to cause harm. Go ahead, try...because you'll just break your teeth on me...goodbye. Thanks for the song:) I've become an Ankylosaurus. This song was inspired from quite a few situations that happened within the past year. Ankylosaurus (Original Song Live)

This song was written at the same time as ‘Get Up’ which I posted a couple of months ago and is very much a partner piece to it. I’ve given it a more jazzy feel and upped the tempo from my first  version which I hope has given it a brighter and lighter feel. I’ve also multi-tracked the ‘Uh Oh’ vocal loop and added a few effects to make it a little more prominent in the mix - it is after all the title! I very much hope you enjoy this one and, if you have time, maybe leave a comment. The feedback I’ve had on the other songs has been really, really helpful ( and very encouraging too! ).

My name is Johnny, a lifelong musician and songwriter whose work is deeply rooted in the pursuit of justice, equality, and meaningful change. For as long as I can remember, music has been my voice, my weapon, and my sanctuary—a way to channel the frustrations, hopes, and dreams of a world in turmoil.  

My songs are a reflection of the turbulent times in which we live. They are anthems for the marginalized, the oppressed, and the forgotten—those who bear the weight of systemic inequality, poverty, and injustice. Through my music, I aim to amplify the voices of minorities, the poor, the sick, and the downtrodden, shining a light on the struggles they endure in a society that often turns a blind eye.  

At the heart of my work is a call to resist the oppressive grip of the billionaire class, whose unchecked power and greed have eroded the foundations of our democracy. My lyrics are a rallying cry, urging listeners to awaken to the realities of our world, to challenge the status quo, and to fight for a future where equity and justice are not just ideals, but realities.  

But my music is not just a critique of what is wrong—it is also a beacon of hope. I strive to inspire others to join the fight, to look in the mirror and confront the uncomfortable truths of our nation’s bloody history. Only by acknowledging the past can we begin to heal and move forward. My songs are a tribute to the dreamers and the activists who came before us, and a call to carry their torch into the future.  

Above all, I seek to honor the vision of John Lennon and countless others who dared to imagine a world of peace, love, and unity. Through my music, I hope to contribute to that vision.
