This is my entry for the Cymatics Zodiac Beat Contest, using the "Tarantino" melody (106BPM - D#min) from the Zodiac Pack as the main body of the beat.

Almost all sounds heard are processed samples from various other Cymatics packs, (such as Drill Essential Drumkit, Pharaoh Sample Pack, Pyramid FX, Lofi Textures Pack) with the only exception being the classical guitar riffs and fills, which I recorded myself at home.

The Tarantino melody was an instant favorite, I just HAD to use it from the moment I listened to it...! That being said, the track contains quite some audio chops/transpositions/reversals etc. 

I transposed the 4th bar of the melody to A#min, from the fundamental D#min, just to add some...loneliness to the overall feeling. The intro and outro of the song contain some playing around with various filters, delays, and also Lofi textures to give it a more...self reflecting feeling. The second bridge of the track is basically a...reversal experiment/break from the rest of the track, with segments of the Tarantino melody reversed, complimenting each other and also reversed melodies from my classical guitar to add an extra air of...blue...! 

The classical guitar recorded, fills the 3 verses of the beat with a different riff/melody each time. The first verse leaves the Tarantino melody dominant, with the guitar just appearing with some short fills in every bar. For the second verse there are some melodic trills, creating the classic fundamental plus 3rd harmonic feeling. And finally, the last verse contains a more energetic soloing accompanied with some short harmonic fills resembling the ones on the first verse, slightly, so to give the track a feeling of "completion".

I tried to keep the feeling blue/reflective/lonely without making the track too...bassy or murky, hope I succeeded...

Really really hope you guys like it and consider it for the prize (it would be like...a dream come true, lol!), but in any case I have to say that I had a completely AMAZING time creating this entry, lots of new stuff learned, lots of new stuff I experimented with, and overall a really really great experience!
