Here's my 160bpm jungle techno / breakbeat hardcore take on Sub Focus & Dimension's dnb/uk hardcore track, 'Ready to Fly'. Hope you enjoy the early 90s vibes on this one!

My entry for Erb n Dub's 'Loud Mouth' Remix Competition. I thoroughly enjoyed reworking the original track, which itself, is already an absolute beast of a tune! 

I used the rave stab samples of the original track as inspiration for the main lead in my remix - I built on this by using early 90s hardcore choir stabs to give it some darkside slap akin to Hammer by Enei or Defcon 69 by Total Science. I then took the early 90s theme further by creating my own melodic piano compositions to add segments of light/soul, as well as dropping in some crisp amens and subs for that '93 hardcore jungle vibe. I didn't want to deviate from the original drums too much, as I felt they fit my remix perfectly in certain sections.

Welcome to the much belated installment of my Breaks, Beats & Bass series of mixes. Unfortunately I've been away from Mixcloud for most of this year as my life commitments wiped out most of any spare time I had available to create mixes. Instead, I used what ever small time I had left over to create some new tracks for the labels I release music with.

I've recently created some music that covers breaks, breakbeat hardcore/rave and jungle, so I decided to showcase some of these in this session, which covers tempos from 130bpm all the way through to 170bpm - so beginning with some ravey headstrong breaks and finishing with some rough and ready jungle/jungle tekno!

It's been a while, but I finally have a brand new Flowtation mix for 2024! As you've probably noticed, my mixcloud output and participation has been quite minimal over the last year or so - mainly due to a slightly busier life, as well as concentrating on my production work - but I'm hoping to get a few more bits up uploaded in the near future.

Based in Berkshire, UK, Johnny is a reknowned DJ and producer specialising in the sounds of Drum & Bass, Jungle and Breakbeat. Although he's only been producing since 2021, Johnny has been DJing for 25 years, mixing mainly drum & bass, jungle and early 90s breakbeat hardcore. Back in 2013, Johnny B won the Ram Records DJ competition, which awarded him the opening set of Ram @ Brixton Academy that very same year! Nowadays Johnny is busy crafting new music for some steadily growing labels in the drum & bass and breakbeat scenes.
