@djsouthsidebass (aka SSB) is a DJ from Albany, Western Australia. 
 
SSB started in the mid 90’s as resident DJ in most nightclubs in Albany. Early 2000-04 SSB & he’s mates started mixing sets of UK & Ger H/Dance, H/house & H/Trance to WA’s Narrikup & Denmark rave parties. 

Attending his first Godskitchen in 2003, was most likely a time when trance became SSB’s preferred choice of music. SSB was fortunate when asked to be a regular DJ support, at MOS Hard NRG tours, including many other large music festivals held over Perth in 04-08 years. 
 
SSB’s vinyl orders stopped around 2010 when he quit DJ’ing in clubs & family life became his main priority. In that time the world changed with Vinyl Stores closing & going back to being a home DJ wasn’t so bad, because he had so many amazing memories to reflect on along with all his DJ eq & music. 
 
Early 2023, SSB started mixing a trance series for UK’s 4BeatRadio, called ‘Select Trance Classics’. With episode #12 coming out very soon. He’s recently rebuilt his studio and hopefully start streaming some shows out very soon.  

 

SSB has been enjoying ‘Journeys’ & is up to #16. He says: 

‘Big respect to Johnny Davison & all the guests DJ’s. I can appreciate that a great deal of time & effort has gone into putting this series together. There’s such a huge range of rare & quality trance music, many tracks I’ve heard for the first time, yet released by Artist I’ve known of, for years.’ 
 
SSB mixes using 2x SL1210Mk2s, an S8 Kontrol/TraktorPro3, outputs to a quality analogue sound system & delivers the perfect amount of high & low frequencies needed to feel music move through him when playing those tracks by ‘Push’ or ‘Hennes & Cold’ (though neighbours several blocks back may not agree).
