Independent imprint Spekulla Records, known for championing Poland’s underground sound and forward-leaning club culture, welcomes a fresh voice to its international roster: Grant, a Mexican-born producer making his return to the global circuit with the hypnotic, groove-heavy single “Sidefoot Step.”

The track, a late-night burner rooted in deep percussive tension and subtle emotional drive, marks Grant’s first official release in over a decade — and it’s already turning heads. “Sidefoot Step” debuted this weekend on Traxsource’s Weekend Weapons Chart, with a Hype Chart placement confirmed for early next week.

A Return with Purpose
Grant’s trajectory doesn’t follow the usual arc.
After founding Union Jack Records in 2010 — with a debut release landing on an acclaimed Balance Music compilation — his productions gained early support from names like Seth Troxler, Pezzner, Atish, and Sasse. But just as momentum began to rise, Grant stepped back — not out of doubt, but intention.

“It wasn’t a pause. It was preparation,” Grant explains.
“Music never left me. I was just learning how to return on my own terms.”
That return arrives now — focused, lean, and laced with a quiet confidence. “Sidefoot Step” carries the kind of structure that builds over time: minimal elements placed with surgical precision, a swung groove that feels equal parts analog and introspective, and a clear sense of storytelling through rhythm — a nod to the influence of artists like Aphex Twin and DJ Sasha, who shaped his early sonic compass.
