Myself and Andrea Piacentini, we are two shadows etched deep into the city’s underground nights, and we return to the ritual: 2 x turntables, a crate of wax and the quiet defiance of not giving everything away. 

No algorithm, no easy Shazam. Only ears, only hearts, only the dancefloor.

In a world where every song is named before it even ends, there’s rebellion in anonymity.

The needle drops and you don’t know — you just feel. A bassline pulled from some forgotten pressing, a hi-hat that breathes dust, a vocal ghosting through the room.

These are records that live outside playlists, out of reach of search bars. They exist only in that moment, in that booth, under our hands.

It’s not nostalgia. It’s devotion. 

Records force you to listen. 
To care for it, to know its imperfections.

We aren’t just playing tracks, we are speaking in an old language few still remember. 

Every mix is unrepeatable, every transition a secret shared with those who showed up, who stayed late, who paid attention.

This isn’t music to be owned; it’s music to be witnessed.

This DJ mix is an absolute masterclass in everything I love about A Deeper Groove.

You can hear the full weight of their 30-plus years in dance culture woven into every transition, deep electronic textures melting effortlessly into warm, soulful grooves. 

That Scotland-born, Berlin-shaped sensibility shines through loud and clear, capturing the spirit of those formative nights at places like Panorama Bar, Berghain, and all the underground corners that helped refine their sound.

What blows me away most is how naturally they move across genres, just like they always have. Hip hop foundations, acid house edges, Detroit pulse, Chicago swing, soulful uplifts, none of that single-genre nonsense. 

If it sounds good, they play it, and this mix is living proof. It feels like being transported back to 1989, wide-eyed and 17 again, discovering all the music that changes you for life.

A Deeper Groove and Passenger, It feels like a perfect fit, their depth, their musical honesty, their history, and their visionaire values aligning with everything that Passenger represents, it just makes this mix feel even more special.

Few record labels can lay claim to a consistent 10 year stretch, but that's what Myna Music reached at the end of 2011. Myna has been a source of the finest deep house and tech house for the last decade and has rightfully become one of the most highly regarded house labels.

After a well deserved break for the first quarter of the year, Myna returns, fresh and ready for the summer. Da Sunlounge, whose recent remixes include Crazy P on 2020 Vision & Lisa Shaw on Salted Music, returns to his Myna label with 2 tracks that will work a treat at summer gigs. Be it roof-top parties, festivals, beach gigs, or the clubs of Ibiza.

'All I want' kicks off the EP with vintage drum machine beats that lock you in from the word 'go!' Adding to the groove is a bumping, shoulder popping analogue b-line, subsequently locking you in. Once the track has your full attention, a subtle male vocal speaking about a very well known New York DJ drops in and takes the track up a level.

Dream Girl takes the EP into a deeper territory. Warm bass that spills over and drips from the sub's. Melodies top the track from start to finish with a pitched down male 80's vocal samples that turns the track into a mind bending groove. Suitable for either lazy gatherings in the midday sun or reaching in to the corners of a dark club.
