Desert Trax is thrilled to bring fans a star-studded remix pack for ”Saraswati's Twerkaba,” the smash lead track from Desert Dwellers' Clear Path compilation, which was originally released in 2016 by Sofa Beats. The exotically innovative original from Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe sees the Desert Dwellers blending their signature downtemple dub sounds with global club flavors. It was inspiration enough to draw in a wide range of remixers amped to take on the task.

French guitarist and glitch sensation CloZee joined forces with LuSiD for an earthy, percussive take. Southern California bass legend David Starfire leaned more into the clubby side of the yoga twerk track. Mindex and Landswitcher both went dark and dangerous on their respective remixes, pulling heavily from the subsonic sampling and fearlessly pushing the track into the cavernous abyss. Patiently building from mild murmur to full on twisted roar, Nanosphere stretches Saraswati into a psy opus. Israeli sensation TRIBONE stripped the cut down all the way to its primal, midtempo stomp, and there is no doubt his take will turn dance floors loose with its relentless pulse.

The “Saraswati's Twerkaba” remix pack features 8 tracks with 40+ minutes of music and is available July 17th on all major sites worldwide.

Hailing from the southwest region of the United States, AMANI has been a unique fixture in the underground electronic music scene, seasoned by over two decades of studio production and performance. From his early days at remote desert gatherings, to his constant touring of clubs and music festivals with world renowned downtempo sensation Desert Dwellers, his career has traversed many musical styles and genres. Blending world music with cutting-edge sound design, Amani Friend has amassed an enormous catalog between his projects Desert Dwellers, Liquid Bloom, and Variant Field. Traveling the international festival circuit and staying on the road with a jam-packed schedule, AMANI continues to bring his alchemy of ancient-future psychedelia to dance floors around the globe. Equally adept at sonically fueling the spirit of large yoga classes or high-energy dance floors, Amani’s sonic offerings provide a journey into the imaginative realms of movement and sound.

Bass heavy, energetic, and original. Hooves’ music is a richly coloured industrial sound scape of driving beats and sonic treats. He has carved himself a name in the international beats scene as a producer, live percussionist and DJ. Hooves’ slick production and composition, while drawing on his jazz and rock roots, has permeated his long line of solo and collaborative releases; enabling him to produce a live experience for audiences thick with passion, energy and bass. 

As a Drummer, Hooves has worked with some of the worlds best including one of the most recognised live D&B acts, Shapeshifter and, more recently, meteoric glitchhop star Opiuo in the Opiuo Live Band. He has entertained thousands in some of the worlds best arenas, frequented the iconic Shepherds Bush Empire and rocked along side greats at Glastonbury. As a regular at many of Australia’s leading venues and festivals he has DJ’d alongside Andy C, Calyx and Tee Bee, London electricity, Black Sun Empire and many more.

With more than 7 years of international solo and collaborative releases under his belt he has had releases on the likes of State of Mind Music, Obsessions Recordings, and Anodyne Audio. More recently he’s been working with Addictech and Muti Music.

Working on projects with a long list influential Australian and New Zealand artists including JPS, Sean Deans, Armin Payne, Ganga Giri, Syreneyiscreamy and Rayjah45 and further tinkerings with heavyweights MR Carmack and Thelem, Hooves is know as a  multi talented musician, producer, remixer, collaborator and engineer.
