The Nottingham-based foursome have been thrilling audiences since 2008 with their 'gigs for cool kids'. Songs from band’s seven albums are brought to life with costumes, props and a whole heap of help from the audience. Kids with a knack for punk-rock pogoing can rock out onstage with wooden guitars. Others can get dressed as fruit, vegetables, cats and superheroes. Everyone can learn a few things at Pirate School. Watch out for the flying teddy bears during ‘I’m in the washing machine’.

Johnny and the Raindrops have performed highly acclaimed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, Wheee! International Children’s Festival and at hundreds of festivals, theatres and schools in the East Midlands and beyond.
 
The band’s lovingly-crafted songs have been played on radio and TV all over the world. Songs such as ‘Everybody’s Body is Different’, ‘What’s the Time?’ and ‘Be Yourself’ carefully balance entertainment with positive social and personal themes of hope, respect and diversity. 

‘Lend a Friend a Hand’ was nominated for a Roundglass songwriting award in New York. ‘Animals in Danger’ and ‘Shine a Light’ have been sung by schools in the Arctic Circle, New Zealand and elsewhere.

Singer and songwriter Johnny (AKA Dr Liam Maloy) has a PhD in music made for children. His publications and presentations make him one of the leading scholars in the field of children’s music.
