Opus No. 1

this song marks an important change in my music, and is something a lot of people might not expect from me.

that being said, the thing that makes this song so weird for me is thst it's probably the most "normal" song i've ever done. also the first song i've written with the intent of singing, which is something i've finally started doing.

recorded in a solid take laying in bed with a ukulele and a mic in front of me.

ps. i have to warn that it's a little depressing!

this is me trying one of my favourite songs, Doc Watson's version of the old standard "Summer Time".

it was recorded on my phone, obviously, ha.

Summer Time

this is all bass. four separate tracks, all with the same basic clean tone, with a slight bit of reverb.

what sounds like effects at the end was actually done with a slide, going in front of and behind the pickup. it was an unexpected surprise when i just tried to squeeze an extra higher octave of the main melody in!

may record a video of the tapping groove thing later.


Pom Poms

still feeling kind "meh" on this one. adding drums didn't help much.

the only part i really dig is the fade out with the bass and keyboard. love my awesome old mini synth. the same i used for "You Are Getting Sleepy".

yes, i realize it's pretty much a ripoff of the Melvins song "Sacrifice" and a few others, but i still dig it.
