Take Me, I'm Lost Without You

Greetings all. I've been in bands and busking for years. I have been writing bluesy songs for a long time and recently wrote some songs with more than 3 chords in. Some are a touch melancholy but most are a bit daft. My original band was called Tongue in Cheek and we never took ourselves seriously. I don't consider myself to be good enough to be taken seriously so writing silly songs covers up for my inability to sing or play with anything competence. Still, people seem to like what I do when I play live but that might be helped by their alcohol consumption.
I play a nylon strung Yamaha acoustic and an old Fender Stratocaster. I can patter about on cajon, drums and percussion as well as pluck a bass. I use a Boss BR 600 to record on. I'm no wiz producer so any hints on getting better sounds would be greatly appreciated.
