Kenya music has grown in leaps and bound... same can be said to hip hop music in Kenya. Kalamashaka came thru really hard and surprisingly got airplay on the mainstream media and their music was exposed to the rest of the continent. Sad thing about Kenyans
tho' is that we don't buy our music... Artists in Kenya depend mainly on shows and endorsement not record sales. Unlike our neighbors Tanzania who appreciate their music and most importantly, buy their music. Take for example Juma Nature sold almost 500k copies of his album 'Ugali'.
