Chino Amobi’s forthcoming album, Eroica II: Christian Nihilism (out 31 October via Drowned By Locals), takes its title from what he calls “the idea that while joy and contentment in God might be ideal, they might never be experienced on this side of eternity.” The record inhabits that paradox through folky drones, glacial ambient, spectral trap, and the hushed echoes of sacred traditions. If Paradiso was a burning world in flux, Eroica II is its haunted aftermath.

Born in Alabama to Nigerian parents and raised in Virginia, Amobi is a musician, painter, and writer whose work has been shown internationally, including at MoMA PS1, ICA London, and Palais de Tokyo. He co-founded the influential collective NON Worldwide and is represented by Meredith Rosen Gallery in New York, Robby Fitzpatrick Gallery in Paris, and Von Ammon Co. in Washington, D.C.

'Glass, the new EP by Ishan Mukherjee, is a tribute to creative freedom and an intentional break from structure and rhythm. Letting go of beats and predictable patterns, Ishan dives deep into a world of meditative soundscapes that blur genre lines and focus on feeling over form. The EP was born during his time in Goa, where he travelled light with a portable analog setup, Korg Volca Keys, Artiphon Orba, an acoustic guitar, all patched into a Zoom H5 recorder. Improvisation was at the heart of the process. Without a DAW or metronome to guide him, Ishan captured raw, spontaneous ideas in real time.

Goa itself seeped into the music. Field recordings of monsoon rains, quiet forest walks, and hushed conversations became part of the sonic fabric, making the landscape an unseen collaborator. When Ishan returned to his studio in Hyderabad, those sessions began to evolve. The studio turned into a space of playful experimentation as sounds were stretched, reversed, granulated and the line between music and memory started to blur. Ishan describes the EP as “a map of contradictions… like watching the ocean swallow a storm.”

The EP finds its home at Safar Collective, a label that encourages self-expression through experimentation. The partnership reflects the spirit of the project as Safar’s boundary-pushing ethos fits perfectly with Ishan’s vision of a borderless, exploratory sound. Together, they invite listeners to experience ambient music in a new way: as a journey with no fixed destination.
Glass, out August 19th, marks a new chapter for Ishan. Moving away from his earlier rhythm-heavy collaborations, this EP leans into vulnerability, introspection, and the beauty of imperfection. It’s both a reflection and a departure, and an honest step into the unknown.'

Baby Diwata is a Filipina DJ, model, and organizer based in Hong Kong. Unafraid to push the boundaries of club music, she experiments with extreme genres like Deconstructed Club, Hardcore, Hyperpop and more. She fuses soft and melancholic melodies with distorted and heavy hitting basslines to nurture a soundscape that taps into the deepest burrows of her queer and feminine experience.

With her love of alternative sound and yearning to create safer spaces for women and queers, she co-founded PANIC LIBRARY: an art/rave project focused on experimental and deconstructed club music, with a goal of diversifying HK's electronic music scene. 

Baby Diwata continues to infiltrate the underground scene of Asia with her fierce and enigmatic sound, making club and radio appearances at SLAP (HK), Arcan (Saigon), Apotheka (MNL), HKCR, FM Belowground, Manila Community Radio, V2X Radio (Saigon), and more. She has also played for global collectives like Normie Corp (Canada), Keep Hush (UK), and Cakeshop (Seoul).

My personal note about the mix: I started working on this mix after seeing the widespread protests in the philippines against corruption last september. This mix is my love letter to rage and loss -- feelings dealt with by the filipino who is forced to come to terms with living in a country that does not value its own people. Corruption is an evil that trickles down from the higher up. Never let it consume you and never forget.
