Swiss connaisseur John Parsley shares some of his delicious recipes with us with his new „Panipuri EP“. As John puts it himself, these tracks mark the beginning of a new era for him, having „still playful, but a bit more tidy production with a bigger focus on sound design than ever before. It’s the new sound for the alternative dancefloor, dreamy, cheerful, full of groove - more than just BumzBumzBumz“. And well... we concur!
Look no further than the opener „Tejido“ with its trippy layerings of percussions, synths and vocals thrown into cubby echo chambers. „Der Zweite Tag“ picks up the pace and delivers a slightly more streamlined version of this intriguingmixture. The title track reduces the tempo again and sends us sliding down the rabbit hole in slow motion letting bubbling synth apps swirl around our heads, which makes us wonder if there might be some special psychedelic ingredients in John’s very own Panipuri recipe. „Cafesito“ is a collaboration with producer Eli LiNE and weaves off into breakbeat territories but sonically connects to the rest of the EP with its seductive synth and vocal snippets. Closing off the EP is a remix by Cornelius Doctor, who elegantly turns „Cafesito“ into a subtle beast for the peakier times of the night.

John Parsley returns to Playground Records with a narcotic Ep, loaded with modular synthesis and rough textures. 3 original tracks accompanied by a raver remix by Moroccan artist Zaatar زَعْتَر.

Big and fat basslines melted into acid sounds that bounce back and forth, breaks, the lab is up and running, the machinery is working, the lysergy takes over the scene as the jungle percussions burst in. Lost in space we are better off.

Sinchi Music returns with the twelfth volume of its influential Altered States series, featuring artists from all over the world.

All sales from this not-for-profit release will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation to support Indigenous forest guardians in the Brazilian Amazon.

We open with Tassilo Vanhöfen, a visionary musician whose work reflects a profound appreciation for both the organic and synthetic, creating a dynamic interplay that captivates audiences and evokes a sense of introspection. Flow My Tears, an ethereal dance cut inspired by a deep dive into ’90s and 2000s Russian techno, blends nostalgia with emotional depth. Drawing from the genre’s signature vocal-driven, euphoric sound, he channels its distinctive charm, while crafting something uniquely his own.

Next up is Switzerland-based John Parsley, an MPC enthusiast who churns out a track that defies genres, a manifestation of his musical will in its essence. With recurring releases on labels such as Ombra International, Feines Tier to name a few, he proves over and over again that his music speaks for itself. ‘Brain Structure’, In his own words, the drums were entirely programmed on a modified Alesis HR-16B, a raw, punchy, and full of character. Built upon this foundation, the track unfolds into a soundscape which balances structure and chaos (like in his brain).

Nantes-based Dan ChiCharron oscillates between dark disco and psychedelic indie dance. As a resident for two years at Solemne Centro and Azul Rosa in Guatemala, he developed a unique sound influenced by Zillas on Acid and Tolouse Low Trax. A spontaneous night out in Nantes unexpectedly sparked the creation of ‘Random Jackpot’. That raw, hypnotic vibe followed him back into the studio, where it quickly took shape in this minimalist electro beat that carries the energy of a post-punk rebel on acid.

Bruce Wine is a Mexican producer and DJ who has more than eight years of experience in moving the needle in the local scene. With ‘Psycho Disco’, Bruce Wine dives headfirst into the shadows of sound, exploring the duality between dancefloor energy and emotional intensity. It’s a track built on contrasts, where pulsating beats meet cinematic textures.. An immersive experience that blurs the lines between the rational and the emotional, each beat unfolds like a scene in a film, guiding the listener through a parallel universe.

Next up, we welcome Ninasonik, the founder of Vaarian Records. Being immersed in the Mexican scene for the past 10 years has allowed her to share the stage with The Blessed Madonna, Answer Code Request, Volvox, Cabizbajo, and Theus Mago, to name a few. Her creative gift to Sinchi comes in the form of ‘FURIA’. It flows with hypnotic intensity, channeling the kind of night that feels endless. For Ninasonik, the intention is crystal clear: to sonically translate the almost mystical moment, when the self dissolves into the collective pulse of the dancefloor.

Finishing this series is a track that made us fall in love at first listen. Astrochimp, from Cyprus, crafts tracks that mirror life's unpredictable rhythms, purely guided by curiosity and an instinct for the unexpected. ‘Alien Contact’ is a Detroit-inspired electro, reimagined through a futuristic lens. It’s a bold and immersive take on a timeless sound, merging the mechanical soul of Detroit with an exploratory, forward-thinking edge.

John Parsley is a Swiss/Italian artist from Zurich. He discovered his love of music many years ago, as a drummer in rock bands, then later with the first MPC sampler, his fondness of TripHop and electronic music.  Today he produces mainly electronic music across the full spectrum. Apart from playing as Dub and Roots Reggae DJ, he has never worked as a DJ.  He devotes himself chiefly and continuously to production. With this he is always looking for new ways to lend his feelings expression in music.  Sometimes sombre, sometimes trancelike rhythmical but always in his own style.  From House to Tribe music, in addition dark TripHop and  driven dancefloor killers, he does not let himself be caught up in any one genre.  He does what he feels like doing and what he loves doing. With recurring releases on labels such as NEIN, Sulk Magic, Lustpoderosa, Playground Records, Ombra International or Feines Tier he proves over and over again that his music convinces, without  huge social media presence  or his having to move within the night life scene. He feels most at home in understatement.  What pleases him most is when he is recognized by his music.
