Devil in This Holler

A collaboration with two talented friends in LA. MK on acoustic guitar and vocals; Avi on electric guitar and vocals. I added bass. This is a hauntingly beautiful song by George Harrison. It deals with spirituality and admonishes the listener not to focus on dark energy. Michael and Avi sing beautiful harmony together. 

Beware of Darkness (MKAvi) 9-18-25 v1.2

I think maybe I have been trying to write this song for months now.   It's an attempt at looking for a way forward.  The current political atmosphere seeks to divide and conquer and I maintain that we are all much more similar than we are different.   If we all could decide on what's true, then we likely would mostly agree with each other, but politics in this day and the media to some extent, seek to keep us divided.  We are easier to control that way.   Anyway, a couple of mornings ago, this song surfaced and in about 5 minutes, I had it written down and a melody.   It seemed appropriate to use an old 12 string guitar from the folk era and play in that style.  "They tell us this, and they tell us that, til we're not sure what is true. So we gather 'round and stand our ground, 'cause, what else ya gonna do?"
