After years of thumpers and bumpers on labels such as Twirl, Love Child and Instant Replay, the erstwhile Go-Go dancer and Amsterdam club legend Lupe sashays in from the left and slam dunks us with unholy acid house thunderstorms. 'Only Sinners Survive'

His Pets debut is pounding late night tackle that sounds future-proof today but would have fit perfectly at any stage since the acid revolution. The title track is inspired, as is the whole EP, by magical TV drama consumed during lockdown; takes us straight across the leftfield with an electroclash style fusion of juggernaut acid and stark lyricism that reminds us that perfection is a delusion.

Deeper into the night we strut to strike deep mix gold on 'Den Of Iniquity' as a Lupe makes the drums sing in a slamming, Q&A style hook that will fit over any other track and wind the dancers up with its addictive and mischievous mutations. Finally we have 'Binge Dancer'. The biggest slammer of the EP, once again we're sent into a spin with broadsheet acid and the type of rattling, insistent percussion that ensures plenty of bingeing.

Handle with caution. Lupe might drive you loopy.

MUMBAI SCIENCE  proudly presents “DÉJÀ VU”, the first single of their same-titled debut album. “Déjà Vu” takes you on a trip to a grim future, were partying is reduced to handing out business cards and personal trainers are the new superstars. 

  “No one bothers, no one moves, I’ve seen it all there’s nothing new”.

Tapping deep into their musical heritage, Mumbai Science bring a piece of work that reflects their own, wayward view on contemporary dance music. Rough and dirty, but at the same time playful and quirky, without making any compromises on the artistic level. Instead Mumbai Science took the path less traveled and ended up at an uncharted place that somehow feels right at home.

The single comes with remixes from LOOPS OF FURY and BS1. While the former delivers a high voltage festival take on the original track, the latter transforms it into a je-m’-en-fous basement techno track. With both of them boldly exploring different corners of the electronic dance spectrum, the “Déjà Vu” package feels more than complete.

Mumbai Science’s debut album “Déjà Vu” will be out in JUNE 2014 on LEKTROLUV and features collaborations with Peaches, Mixhell, Gustaph, and more. From techno-with-an-attitude, over faux-pas electro-clash to straight-up Belgian rave. Expect a wonderful journey through the soundscapes of Mumbai Science.

This new VA offers a journey through contemporary soundscapes, where sound, texture, and rhythm interacts with fluidity. Nine productions revolve around a shared balance of energy, space, and emotional depth, creating a continuous sonic flow.

The journey opens with Cyberlife, delivering a dark, soft introduction, a slowed-down break with percussive undertones, perfect for easing into the immersion. The energy builds with Jafadan, driven by a dub groove and resonant toms, gradually adding depth to the sonic material. Hohe continues the ascent with a tribal, textured track, built on repetition and vibration in an organic loop with hypnotic tension. Mersel pushes the narrative into an analog and psychedelic dimension, with massive basses and expansive synths. Solarythm steps in with a faster tempo and granular, trancy layers, where heavy bass intertwines with a hypnotic melody. Fonzo shifts the journey into a sci-fi universe, combining break rhythms and dissonant synths to create an evolving, kinetic soundscape. The duo Sublife (Sub Accent and Cyberlife) delivers percussive, introspective techno, enriched with airy pads and breathing analog textures. Yunze Ou initiates the descent with a slow, melodic track, deeply rooted in deep sensibilities. The compilation closes with an ambient, cinematic track by 矯激 [Radical], whose deep basses open a space of suspension, somewhere between sci-fi and dreamlike reverie.

Octave One announce their new album under the much loved Random Noise Generation guise. The first RNG release was 'Falling in Dub' in 1991 and sounding just as fresh 27 years later, ‘Endustry’ is due for release this spring. 

Something of a new take on their creative process the Burden brothers made most of this music on the road while they toured over the past year, using the country they were in at each time they recorded to influence and inspire each track. “We were tucked away in so many hotel rooms that we decided to make sure we brought enough extra equipment so that we could set up a true lab to create from country to country and make the grooves that we wanted to experiment with on the dance floor.” comments Lawrence.

This body of work encompasses 7 full length cuts, naturally all with that classic Octave One emotion. “'Alkaylze', more than any of tracks on this project, embraced the original spirit of Random Noise Generation in so much as the “machine” seemed to be really guide the creative process.” Adds Lenny “Much of the foundation of the composition was very accidental, but inspirational, with various musical devices interpreting data in a very unexpected results. It actually came together quite quickly but things just fell into place so naturally.” 

After touring and making music for decades the spirit and essential energy of the craft is what keeps them eternally inspired to keep creating and touring the globe… ”Once it takes hold of you you can’t stop even if you wanted to.” says the pair, and so 'Endustry' is born.

Leeds based duo PBR Streetgang launch their highly anticipated vinyl focused label KURTZ with their ‘Big Wig’ EP as the first installment of self-released, dancefloor driven material. Leading off the EP is the title track that delivers an infectious ballad with fluttering synth melodies, a bumping bass line and steady breakbeat percussion. The track progresses with subtle variations, making it a gripping track full of their signature style. It's this attention to detail that has established the pair as leaders in the modern house and disco scene, an aspect of their artistry that will be on full display with the new label. 

PBR Streetgang had this to say on the vision behind the new label: “We wanted to shift the focus back to our first love, the music we play in clubs week in, week out, music for our dancefloors and nothing else. We hope you enjoy the new music as much as we enjoyed making it!”

The ‘Big Wig’ EP, which also includes a remix from Donald Dust, is set for release July 12.
