Asylum

ENG - “Flower” is the delicacy of a flower growing in an arid field, perhaps among rocks. It is the sign of a life that resists, of a hope that continues to exist even when everything seems to come to a halt. Within the Symphonic Rock Opera Dreaming a Human Symphony, it represents a moment of deep transformation: rediscovering within oneself a feminine image — the receptive, human, and emotional part that allows one to feel again. A love that recreates adolescence, perhaps lived, perhaps only dreamed.

It is a fully symphonic piece that introduces the theme of what will become the great choral finale, when all 80 artists and musicians will unite in a single voice. Toward the end of the piece, the piano hints at a theme that will return later — “Where a Flower Can Stay” — like a karst river, a seed waiting to blossom.

Throughout the Opera, fragments of themes often appear and are later taken up again in subsequent pieces: musical traces that tell a journey, a story, a dream. Dreaming a Human Symphony.

ITA - “Flower” è la delicatezza di un fiore che nasce in un campo arido, magari tra le rocce. È il segno di una vita che resiste, di una speranza che continua ad esistere anche quando tutto sembra fermarsi. All’interno della Symphonic Rock Opera Dreaming a Human Symphony, rappresenta un momento di cambiamento profondo: il ritrovare dentro di sé un’immagine femminile, la parte recettiva, umana e affettiva che permette di tornare a “sentire”. Un amore che ricrea l’adolescenza, forse vissuto, forse solo sognato.

È un brano totalmente sinfonico che introduce il tema di quello che sarà il grande finale corale, quando tutti gli 80 artisti e i musicisti si uniranno in un’unica voce. Infatti, verso la fine del brano, il pianoforte lascia intravedere un tema che ritornerà più avanti, quello di “Where a FlowerCan Stay”, come un fiume carsico — un seme che attende di sbocciare.

Nell’Opera compaiono spesso accenni di temi che vengono poi ripresi in brani successivi: frammenti che “raccontano” un percorso, una storia, un sogno. Dreaming a Human Symphony.
