Renowned guitarist Marcus Bell is dying of cancer, and his daughter Randy has put her life on hold to care for him during the pandemic. Desperate to save him, she believes learning to play his most famous composition will cure his illness, despite having no musical experience.
Randy deceives Jordan Moore, a frustrated amateur songwriter and recently unemployed Zoom bomber, into giving her guitar lessons online, pretending to be a cybersecurity expert. As their connection deepens, her lies unravel, revealing the emotional and physical distance between them.
When Jordan shows up unannounced at Randy’s home, she’s too overwhelmed by her father’s decline and sends him away. After Marcus dies, their relationship falls apart, with bitterness and hurt making reconciliation seem impossible.
However, when Jordan contracts a severe case of COVID, Randy comes to his aid. Together, they realize the song they were trying to learn wasn’t meant to save Marcus—it was meant to heal their own broken hearts.
