This song is about struggling with anxiety. It’s about the constant battle you have in your head against all your thoughts. It’s about trying to escape your own mind but knowing it’s impossible to escape yourself. And yet you still try. It’s feeling like you’re supposed to be safe in your head but your thoughts are the most toxic thing driving you to the edge. About not being able to escape that voice and not wanting to wake up to battle through it again. But still being afraid to sleep because you’re not safe in your dreams either. About everything being fine then the next second, everything is on fire. About blaming yourself because there’s no one else to blame for your own mind. About wanting to escape but not wanting to let go. About always feeling hollow.
