Damn Groove is a forward-thinking dancefloor record that was born from a serendipitous night of DJing when Todd Duff and Mark Valsecchi crossed paths. The connection was instant, and the mission was clear: to create an undeniable banger. The track evolved through various iterations, finally landing in the perfect sweet spot—groovy, driving, bouncy, and introspective.

As the creative process unfolded, one of the edits took on a life of its own, giving birth to The New Order. Naturally, Monococ had to be involved, and the result is a remix that truly elevates the original. We’re thrilled to present this EP—a true melter for the dancefloor.

Mark Valsecchi is a DJ and producer with a knack for crafting tracks that captivate the dancefloor. His dedication to pushing the boundaries of sound is evident in every beat, and this EP is no exception. With Damn Groove, Mark continues to solidify his reputation as a forward-thinking artist, always ready to bring something fresh and exciting to the table.

This set was created for a small, lovely festival in Braunschweig, Germany, where the stage theme was all about Space and Aliens. From the stage design to the visuals, everything was crafted to immerse the audience in a cosmic experience. Inspired by this theme, I aimed to capture the atmosphere of the unknown and the alien by taking listeners on a journey through cosmic realms.

To honor the Zenonesque genre, I produced a special intro in German, featuring two curious aliens looking down on Earth and discussing the uniqueness of this musical style. The intro was brought to life by the talented voices of Robert Prinzler as the narrator, Ivan Marković as Zora. This humorous introduction sets the tone for the entire set, pulling you straight into the dark, mysterious world of extraterrestrial sounds.

The track selection was also based on the space theme, exploring the possibility of strange beings and unknown phenomena in the universe. Each track was carefully chosen to tell a story—from the eerie silence of outer space to the pulsing rhythms of an alien party. The soundscapes are dark and hypnotic, perfect for creating the feeling of drifting through space and encountering something unknown.

Sit back, close your eyes, and let the sounds take you away as we explore the endless possibilities of the universe and the encounter with the unknown.

A therapeutic journey into a mix of jazz, classical, and a blend of types of electronica.  And a wry, gradual observation that promotion tends to only go as far as you push it.  At least I make my fellow musicians laugh a little.

Jolly Joker is a DJ and producer of electronic music, known for his style that blends techno, trance and progressive influences. His career has been characterized by continuous evolution, pushing more and more the boundaries of genres and trying to create a sound that was both powerful, emotional and engaging. With a passion for sound experimentation and a unique approach to production, Jolly Joker has managed to earn a prominent place in the international underground scene.

Born in Genoa and now based in Milan and Miami, Jolly Joker has developed a deep interest in electronic music from a young age. Raised in a musical context full of stimuli, he approached the dance scene of the 90s, a period in which genres such as trance and techno began to dominate the dance floors. His passion for these sounds pushed him to become a DJ, performing in local clubs and perfecting his technique.

His DJ career took off when he started referring to the big names on the European scene, but it's with his transition to music production that he's really caught on, developing a sound that mixes dreamy atmospheres with powerful bass and energetic rhythms.

Jolly Joker is known for his ability to mix the intensity of techno with the dreamy atmospheres and engaging trance melodies. His sound is characterized by powerful basses, hypnotic synthesizers and expertise in the use of rhythmic constructions. His tracks are often deep and progressive, with an intense attention to sound detail and a care for the dynamics that incites movement on the dancefloors.

His influences come mainly from artists who have marked the history of the techno and trance scene, such as Sven Väth, Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten. The evolution of his sound is also the reflection of his double base, between Milan, the epicenter of the Italian techno scene, and Miami, a crossroads of global electronic music, which allowed him to come into contact with different musical cultures, further enriching his repertoire.

Jolly Joker began producing his music in the late 2000s, and quickly gained attention with his first tracks and remixes. His studio technique evolved rapidly, leading him to make songs that were supported and played by world-class DJs at major festivals and clubs.

His productions stand out for a perfect combination of energy and melody, which has become his trademark.
