Beginning in August, I was asked by "TKO Paintings" to do a new "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" remix centered around the theme song ("Temptation" by Hans Kiessling), the character "Ongo Gablogian," and 'art' in general, incorporating the whole Gang, to help promote her newest series of paintings leading up to the premiere of Season 14. Happy birthday and congratulations on your first release in 10 years, Orange Peel Moses!  I am happy to have contributed a remix for it in which I went surgical; re-processing the vocals, adding vocal layers, singing backing vocals myself, modifying the existing instruments and adding new melodies and progressions not found in the original mix… to say the very least, the works.  I am both proud of my friend, and proud of the work I was able to contribute for this.

Orange Peel Moses has been a fixture in the Mile High Denver club scene for 15 years. As a musician, he has hit elevated notes on Red Rocks' upper terrace with now-defunct “Best Club DJs” Friends in Stereo for Global Dance Festival. As a stilt performer, he has cavorted onstage with Top 40 pop stars including LMFAO and Will.I.Am at world-renowned EDM events like Ultra and Electric Daisy Carnival. As a singing telegram, he has introduced Colorado Senate candidate John Hickenlooper and ambushed 9 News Denver anchor Liz Kotalik—in a diaper and wings—on live TV. As a music journalist, he has interviewed artists from Bassnectar to Henry Rollins. In his 15 years as a full-time creative, he has performed in Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, England, India, Japan, Mexico and all over the United States, including Puerto Rico.

“Butterflies,” Peel's first single since 2010's “Pussy Whipped” on Velcro City Records (available on Spotify), is an intimate, insect-infused confessional inspired thematically by Cirque du Soleil's Ovo and musically by UK duo The xx. Peel has been fascinated with bugs since he studied entomology in 4-H as a kid, and has been an ‘entomophagist’ – an avid edible insect connoisseur – since stiltwalking at a 2013 Denver TEDx event featuring Rocky Mountain Micro Ranch founder Wendy Lu McGill. 

The original mix of “Butterflies” was helmed by Nigerian producer Daniel Iyere and features Ghosthouse Studios' Rich Goldberg on guitar and vocal production from San Francisco-based Casey Collins. Remixes are courtesy of Axis of Youth and a Denver producer/vocalist who occasionally delivers singing telegrams on Peel's behalf – Joman.
